Nobby's Gnomies... heading to WDW in April 2010

Hi gals,

Hope the scrapbookers had fun yesterday! :)

Stacy- so sorry about the work stuff. 6 vs. 36 hours hardly seems fair nor does their dollars per transaction system. It doesn't sound like a good place to work. Best of luck in searching for something new. I'm sure you'll find something better! :thumbsup2

Katie - can't remember if I said this or not but sorry your interview was postponed. How's camp?

Paula- how exciting about the photography courses. Tell us more!

Jess- how are things in the lab? I did read that about the monorail pilot -- so, so sad. Did you see the latest NTSB report that his monorail had been moving forward (which would have made the accident so much worse) but stopped his train and was trying to put it in reverse. :sad1::sad1:

------------

It's Friday, gnomies! :yay::woohoo::yay: Have a good one! :upsidedow

Morning Gnomies!

Hey CP....so have you had any luck convincing Charles to do MNSSHP? My friday night flight has gone way way up again and I don't have the cash to buy them yet. The 3:50PM flight is much more affordable...but that has me being picked up at 12:50ish from Riverside. :confused3

I have to make sure that I meet you!!

I mentioned it yesterday along with the idea of dressing up as Indiana Jones -- he laughed and said, "You've got to be kidding me!" I don't know what that means exactly. :confused3

We could plan on meeting at Epcot at rope drop and riding a couple of rides together...then, right at 11:00 heading over for henna. If you leave Epcot by 11:30 to head back to Riverside, I would think you would be okay.

We have to meet though, I agree! Are you doing the tea at the Grand Floridian with everyone or no?

No I am not doing the tea on Thursday. What time are you arriving on Thursday?

Even if I don't have time to do the Henna tattoos, we can at least meet up to do a few rides at rope drop. :thumbsup2

I am hoping to get out of here super early like between five and six which (depending on what rush hour traffic looks like in Atlanta) could put us at CBR as early as 1:00 or 2:00. I am planning on having the kids spend the night with my parents so it will just be Charles and I getting out of the house.

Rides at rope drop sound great!

Oh good! If the flight goes down then I will book that one but it's way more expensive and I am trying to get my flights for as cheap as possible.

I was going to suggest maybe doing a breakfast but I think the only TS breakfast at Epcot is Akershush and I don't think I'm really feeling that. :confused3

I was thinking that, too, but then I didn't think I was in the mood for it either -- besides it might be near impossible since it will be during free dining.

I don't know, I have had really good luck getting everything I wanted and I continue to play with a few of them. Are there any others in that area?

I don't think so -- not at Epcot -- and I want to be there bright and early. There are breakfast offerings at Sunshine Seasons -- maybe we could ride Soarin' and then eat breakfast.

:lmao: We totally think alike! I was just going to suggest that. I have never eaten breakfast there and it sounds like a good place to get some yumminess! Yay! Let's plan on that, I probably won't make it to World Showcase that day since I'll want to get back to Riverside and make sure everything is all set plus enjoy Riverside a bit but that sounds like a good morning! I'll let you know if the flight changes then we can go back to our original plan! :rotfl2:

Cracks me up how much we think alike! The kids and I ate there one morning for snacks, and they have some yummy offerings! :thumbsup2

Good Morning Gnomies!!!! I hope everyone is in for a wonderful Friday and even better weekend!!!

I got to go "fondue-ing" last night again with my girlies----it was so much fun and so yummy!!!! I want to convert my table into a fondue table and eat that all day long!!!! ;)

Tom and I have a function to go to tonight for his work....which makes me go :p !!!! It is not that I don't like them, it is just weird........all his employees act weird and treat me strangely because I am the "Boss's Wife"......even though I am younger than most of them. I don't like it...makes ME feel uncomfortable......the only saving grace is getting to hang out with two of his best buddies at work that work on the same executive level as he does....they are so much fun, and we usually have a blast together. I think part of the evening is bowling...which I think is fun....I am horrible at it because I have horribly weak wrists, but I like watching everyone else. I think Megs is going to be spending the night with my Mom and Dad....so she is VERY excited!!!! What's on everyone else's agenda!?!??!?!

Totally the worst night ever last night. I had just been at school for 12 hours working on my thesis. I rushed home, grabbed dinner for 40 mins, ran back to school to finish something and was done at 8:15. I called Blake to tell him, I needed an indulgence, and I had an $8 gift card for TGIFridays, so I got the peanut butter pie, he got the brownie sundae and the bill came to $1.57
We get home, let the dog out, get our pjs on, are ready to hop in the bed, when the dog jumps off the bed and SCREAMS. Leg's broken.:sad1:

I cried and cried. So...$350 at the e-vet and 2 hours later, she's scheduled today for surgery for $2000. He's putting in a smaller plate and going to write us a detailed description to try and get the insurance company to cover it and say it wasn't a pre-existing condition. If they do cover it, we'll get about 1/2 of that back.
Gnomies I need you today. I cried all night, Blake took off work today to be with me, I thought we'd be getting her back today but they're keeping her overnight again. We ended up having to call his dad, the slime of satin and put the charge on his credit card because we can't pay for it all up front since both of our jobs are running out. We're trying our best not to touch our $100 Disney fund for Gnomefest, I'm just going to try and ebay my little heart out. Just wanted to keep you all up to date. :guilty:

Oh, Jess!!  :grouphug:

I am so sorry. Your poor little dog! Try not to stress out too much, just take care of yourself and your dog and everything will work out in the end.

MMMMM...Fondue... :cloud9: That sounds devine! I've always thought I would like to have a fondue only dinner party. One hot oil pot for cooking, one with cheese and of course a chocolate for dessert

I finally got ahold of the secretary of the guy I'm supposed to be interviewing with. She asked if I was available Tues or Wed next week...NOPE. I suggested Fri AM again and he will be out of town Thurs and Fri next week also :sad2: So we finally settled on a week from Monday. Camp will be over so I can be flexible with days/times after that. I THINK I should know by then if my current position will continue or not.

Camp is going really well this week despite a couple things well beyond my control. First the AC went out in the building with the robotics camp and we moved it. This morning...OMG...I couldn't believe what I saw on campus. A severe storm hit the town overnight , the town is a disaster!!! There are tree branches and whole trees down EVERYWHERE. I think I saw at least a dozen trees just on campus broken at the base or completely uprooted. I saw 1 window that must have been hit with a flying branch and busted. The buildings and parked cars are plastered green with leaves ripped off of trees. Much of town is without power from all the powerlines being brought down by trees. Fortunately, campus has their own power plant and all the lines are underground so we are good. When I left this morning to come back to my office, 19 of the 21 kids had made it to camp. We'll see what our open house turnout looks like!

It's actually very fortunate that it's not next week. The campus arts festival starts next Friday and the exhibitors tents would have all been up in the area where at 8 this morning the work crews were already out with chainsaws and shredders cleaning things up. I hear more stoms rumbling outside right now so it may be a slow recovery day if it keeps up and crews can't get outside.

Well, I better get back to my tasks this morning. Sorry I have been absent so much this week, I miss my gnomies!

Jess.....so sorry about your pup!!!! Here's some HUGS!!!!!!

Katie---glad you are okay with all that storm damage!!!!! YIKES!!

AND, we have done Fondue parties before....they are divine, but keep your crowd to a minimum...just easier that way!

OH JESS     I missed this earlier. I am SO sorry about your poor pup!!! :sad1: Hang in there, so nice for Blake to be staying with you today
