Nobby's Gnomies... heading to WDW in April 2010

I hate situations like that. We had to deal with a nasty HR person about a month ago at Marc's work. He kept calling and emailing and she would NEVER return his calls. It was really frustrating.

Do they not realize they are working for us!?!?

The athletic director isn't here today -- now I have my assistant principal working on it. I really wish I could use some "bad" words here on the DIS.

:lmao: You can, they will just appear like this **** ******* *****!

Hehehe, I crack myself up.

This will make you smile. I had a dream that I was married to Henry VIII last night. I was a Tudor! :lmao: And in my dream, I was very concerned that I needed to have a son. :rotfl2:

:lmao: Smart girl about being concerned with having a son -- that was always of utmost concern to ol' Henry's wives -- their lives depended on it! ;)

You know, I never knew that Katherine of Aragon was married to Henry's brother Arthur first. I confirmed that this morning online, but it was very surprising to me. All these books make me want to go back to school.

Oh and I promise this will be the last time I ask but what was the name of that author with the old Hollywood books...??

I didn't know that either. I am so reading those books this summer.

You can ask me as many times as you need to :goodvibes. His name is Stuart Kaminsky.

They are wonderful books. Between Phillipa Gregory and Alison Weir, I am on Tudor overload and I am loving it! I think next, I want to join netflix so I can watch the Tudor series. :rotfl2:

I am looking forward to the DVD release of TrueBlood.

So, HR would talk to my AP -- they never received the paperwork. :headache: So now my bookkeeper is resending all of it.

OY I feel so worn out, I really need a vacation soon!! I also need to log onto Facebook and catch up with all of you and your quizzes and find out what all this bejewelzzed stuff is all about LOL

Jackie...sorry to hear about your rough day and having issues with HR. We're dealing with the same issues sort considering the accident at work Phillip had and workers compensation.

I loved The Other Boylen Girl(book and movie) and have enjoyed a few historical fiction that is right up my alley. Looks like I'll be starting a new collection of books and making a stop soon to Barnes and Nobles.

P-What a ridiculous tax! Hope you get your taxes all straightened out today!
C-Hope you are able to go with LL and Jen in May!
CP-I totally understand, that is SO absurb about the check. Privacy issues are ridiculous. Back in 2005 when I was taking classes at the community college to transfer over to my university (2 semesters of physics!) I needed to know what grade I got so that I knew if I passed it and needed to sign up for it again at my university. The report cards would take too long, so I called the college up and they told me, they couldnt tell me MY OWN grade. So I had to play guessing games with her, like "Is it a C?" Her response "No". Well, "Is is higher than a C? That's all I need to know!" Then I finally get a "Yes" out of her. I felt like I was on the price is right!!:confused3

Marc called me a few minutes ago. The HR person at his new part time job can't get his current HR person to call them back. They've left 10 messages and still no call back so Marc had to give them another reference! :headache:

You do need a vacation! Bejeweled is so much fun but Farm Town is even better!

Grrrr, about HR -- why do they always have to be so difficult?

Oh, another recommendation on The Other Boleyn Girl!

That would drive me nuts about finding out the grade -- seems like if you have all your personal information for verification, they would tell you over the phone.

That is so frustrating.

Oh, it gets better -- all the paperwork has to be filled out again which the athletic director has and he's not here. I am so hormonal right now that I feel like crying -- this is so frustrating.

CP, what is the first book? You said it was a series, right?

It is a series -- the first one is Bullet for a Star -- it is really atrocious though -- not nearly as good as the later ones -- I have been reading them all out of order and haven't felt like I am missing anything. I would skip the first one and read the second one: Murder on the Yellow Brick Road.

Thanks, CP. I thought maybe that was the case from what I have found on Amazon.

Have you read The Other Boylen Girl, then? I'm confused by what you said.

Awww Jackie.... Group Hug!!:grouphug: I know how you are feeling I'm all in a tizzie emotionally right now...I can't wait for Disney and my time I get to spend with LL and just relaxing.

Is there anymore word on if C is coming along yet LOL

No, I haven't -- I was just saying that both you and Jen loved it, so it must be really good.

Thanks! I know that a large part of it is that not only am I hormonal, but it's the time of year when there is so much that needs to be done paperwork-wise on top of teaching and such. It is overwhelming.

count me in too Jackie...I also loved the Other Boelyn Girl... I have the Boelyn Inheretence and the Other Queen upstairs...but I haven't read them yet.:confused3

Morning gnomies!

what am I gonna do today???
well as it IS April 15th, I'm thinking i should finish my taxes:rotfl2:

I was good and did federal and state...months ago. It's that dang local and commuter tax that I always blow off:sad2:
tootles!
Paula

Oh Paula!

Commuter tax? What is that!!??

Yea, seriously. That sucks! :headache:

Good morning, Gnomies!

Good morning, CP!!

That is a bit ridiculous! I understand why there are all these privacy laws now but you can't do anything anymore. I can't even talk to the cable company because it's only in Marc's name. It makes me furious since they will take the check every month with my signature on it!

You know what's funny? When I call on Jim's accounts... I just tell them my name is a french pronunciation- his name is actually, "Jimmel (Jim-EL)" So I say it is "Jee-mel" w/french pronounciation of J and they buy it every time!!:laughing:

:lmao: You can, they will just appear like this **** ******* *****!

Better crack out that boy, LL! You be losin' a head!!

I have had this movie queued forEVER on Netflix so I guess I should watch this. I usually prefer book before movie but what do you all think?

I was just looking at the DisUnplugged's pix from TrenD and I am SOOO FREAKIN' EXCITED TO GO THIS STORE!! I think I FINALLY found my motivation for losing my 20 lbs from the last year because I love EVERY ITEM OF CLOTHING in that store!!:love:

I want to be in WDW so badly right now it's not even funny! Stupid work, stupid money it costs to get there. :headache: But I was thinking... what would my perfect weekend be... if I flew out on Friday and had to come back on Sunday... what would I pack in there? Here's what I came up with:

Friday:
Lunch at Chefs de France
Afternoon - Epcot. Must do's: Soarin and World Showcase (incl champagne!)
Dinner- ?? Beaches 'n Cream? Le Cellier?

Saturday:
AM - MK. Must do's: Pirates, Haunted Mansion, Jungle Cruise, Carousel of Progress, Wedway People Mover, Main St shopping.
Lunch - Plaza
Afternoon - sunshine and pool
Dinner - ? Maybe Jiko?

Sunday:
AM - DHS. Must do's: Star Tours, One Man's Dream, Great Movie Ride
Lunch - Brown Derby. :cloud9: Can't miss it!
Fly home. :sad1:

And of course I'd be staying at the Beach Club!!

How 'bout you? What would your perfect weekend look like? :upsidedow

Then I was told I have to work on a weekend in August because of something going on at work. BAH! So C, please tell me you booked! :upsidedow
