Nobby's Gnomies... heading to WDW in April 2010

:lmao: :rotfl2: :rotfl: Oh and Marc finally got my headlight fixed....by taking it to the garage. He reported that it took the garage guy less than 2 minutes to fix. Apparently what he was trying to remove didn't need to be removed to fix it. :rotfl2:

YUp YUP...I meant to ask you how the headlight situation went LOL!!! Sounds just like my household...the man can take apart a deer bit by bit in less that 10 minutes...but to change the windshield wipers...LOL...I'll be taking them with me to the next oil change LOL

Or heaven forbid you ask for help at some point...like do you think you could do the dishes tonight...LOL and the looks I get....but he does vacuum LOL. However we figured out early in our marriage that my husband should never take anything apart because he can never put it back together...we hire out when we need something fixed LOL...its actually least expensive to do it that way!:rotfl:

My husband FINALLY has learned this in regards to car repair!! Def. not allowed to touch the cars anymore!!

It's hard enough for me to just get Marc to deal with the car repairs, meaning take it to the garage for me. Men! PFFFFFFFFFFT.

See now our problem is that Greg really CAN do just about any car/home/mechanical work that needs to be done (he was an airplane mechanic in the navy then a car mechanic before going to college to become a teacher. And he also loves home/woodworking shows on TV) so the problem is really that he gets to the final details and gets bored. He likes all the planning and big pieces of a project, it's the finishing work that does him in.

I must confess though, there is NO way we would have purchased our 100+ year old house without his vision. I look at the pics from when we bought it and wonder what the H**L we were thinking :rotfl: It really was a disaster. We (OK, mostly Greg) have torn almost everything down to the wall framing and redone it piece by piece. It is now a really lovely victorian style home with a much more modern interior.

That is very impressive that he can do all of that stuff. :thumbsup2

Jen (MM) - have fun this weekend!

Thanks so much sweetie!!! YOU have a WONDERFUL trip!!! We want LOTS of details when you return!!!!

Jen (MM) have a great weekend!

I won't be around too much today or tomarrow... (good thing I got all that chattering outta my system yesterday huh??) Allison has a home gym meet...which SOUNDS nice...cause it's right here... but til I help get things set up, torn down, and work it... I'll be there 4-midnite today...and 7am-10pm tomarrow!! Urgh I'd rather pay and drive her somewhere else!!:lmao:

Paula

Thanks so much sweetie!! Good luck to your little miss this weekend too!!! I hope you all "do" well---hang in there!

Have a good weekend MM

Thanks Katie---you enjoy your weekend too!

Good morning, Gnomies! Thank goodness it is Friday! It has been one doozy of a week!

You SERIOUSLY deserve a good weekend my dear!!!!

Good Morning Gnomies.

TGIF!!! I don't think I could make it another day, thank goodness for the weekend. I already ripped Friday off my page a day calendar, I didn't like the picture. Now I am looking at a fuzzy piglet, pooh and tigger, much more enjoyable then the one for today. :rotfl2:

I am intrigued to hear what in the world could be sooooooo bad that it needed to be ripped off early!!!

It was a creepy looking Monkey thing from Dinosaur. Bah. I need some happy warm fuzzies for my Fridays! :lmao:

Well okay, THAT makes sense!!! :goodvibes

I just realized that two weeks from today I will be headed to my new apartment. :scared1: Who wants to come help me unpack? :rotfl2:

Oooooooohhhhhhhh!!!!! You don't know HOW much I would LOVE to do that!!! I could seriously help people unpack and move into new homes for a living---the OCD in me!!! That would be the best gift EVER!!!! I wish I could just click my heels and be there!

I want to come help unpack!!! That's the kind of thing my OCD-self loves -- finding new little homes for everything. :goodvibes

Once again Miss Jackie---we are SO alike it is downright SCARY!!!!! BUT I can't think of that many others that I would be so happy to be alike!!! ;)

Oh good! I will have Marc make the BBQ Chicken Polenta for you and you can help unpack. :thumbsup2

The unpacking in and of itself is reward enough for me, now throwing Chicken Polenta on top of the deal....we are talking HEAVENLY!!!

ChuckECheese tonight w/Rach (ick!) and maybe houses on Sunday... workin' tommorow so that stinks....

Ooohhhh house hunting Julez........can I come too????!?!?!?!?! That's right up there with unpacking in my book!

Hurray for dinner with Christine tonight, LL! You are both going to have so much fun!

I knew that had to be the special person you were meeting tonight..........I am so excited for both of you.......and of course I want to see a whole "mini-TR" about your dinner tonight......complete with pictures of course!!!! Give C a hug for me!!! C---give LL one for me too!!!! Oh to be a fly on the wall!!!!

Girlies---I am going to be really busy the rest of the night---doing the laundry that would normally be done on Saturday and packing up for myself for the retreat tomorrow. I will miss chatting with you all this weekend, but will be looking forward to our chats on Monday morning---try not to go too crazy this weekend so that I don't have a novella to read on Monday morning---I know, I am probably asking for the impossible!!! ;) :rotfl: I hope everyone has a great weekend!!!!!!!

Oh good C and LL!! How fun will that be tonight!!!? :thumbsup2
I can't wait to read all about it!

On a side note, I took Riley to the vet today to get her cast removed. The vet had planned on taking the cast off, taking the stitches out and then putting a new cast on for another 2 weeks. Well, she had a bad sore on the pad of her foot from the splint rubbing so he told me he's leaving it off, just to let it get some air and put some cream on it. I put her in the cage because I had to go to school to work on an experiment, which I didn't end up doing anyway because I was worried about her. Well, I get home at 1:30 and she pulled her e-collar off her head and must have bit her sore on her foot because now there's a big tear on the other side of the pad and her foot is bruised and swollen..

So, called the e-vet, but the orthopedist had already gone home. So she told me to put the e collar back on, give her her pain/inflammatory meds from her surgery and keep the cream on. I'm going to try and wash it out a little and see what I can do, because I don't think it's deep enough for a vet to do anything and honestly, we're giving her pain meds/inflammatory meds, and antibiotics both oral and topical, so I dont think they would give me much more than that.

Man..I hope she didn't mess up her foot now and set us back. They had planned to put the cast back on on monday now, but I'm not sure if it'll heal up by then. So, I will be MIA tonight to watch Riley since she can't even move now. Think good thoughts for us!! :sad2:

I'm packed! With a whole 6 min to spare! :yay: Off to meet LL for dinner. I'll miss you gnomies!! :upsidedow

Jess- I'm thinking good thoughts for Riley.

One parting thought.... I wonder if there are cute waiters in the Caribbean? ;)

Jess--I will be thinking of you and Riley this weekend!!! Hope everything gets better right away!!!

Well I'm back from my dinner with C. She is the sweetest, cutest thing ever! Sadly, we only took one picture and C has it so you will have to wait for her to get back. I was able to wish Nobby bon voyage as well.

I just have to say, meeting C was awesome. I was worried it would be awkward but not at all. It makes me even more excited for Gnomefest so I can meet all of my Gnomies. :goodvibes

I wish all of my Gnomies lived closer so we could all meet up....NOW. :rotfl2:

While I was driving home I was thinking, was C & I meeting the first time any of the Gnomies have met?

Jen, you are doing laundry? BIG SURPRISE. ;) I hope you have a good time on your retreat!

Jess, I'm sorry about Riley! I hope she is feeling better.

Paula, good luck to your little gymnast!

CP, any plans this weekend?

Ahhh, I am so glad that you had such a great time! Where did you go to eat?

CP, any plans this weekend?

Nothing too major -- the kids have some stuff they are doing and then my parents are coming over for our belated St. Patrick's Day meal Sunday night.

I am really hoping to DIS and Disney plan this weekend -- being sick last weekend really deprived me of my normal Disney dreamin'.

What about you, LL?

We went to TGI Fridays. It was yummy but loud! Sadly no cute french waiters.

That sounds like fun. I hope we get pictures of your St. Patrick's Day meal. :thumbsup2
I want to do some Disney dreamin' this weekend, I was telling my cubicle mate that I needed some Disney planning soon! Then I need to pack some boxes. We are kinda almost done or maybe I am just telling myself that so I feel better. Sometimes it feels like it's never going to end. :rotfl2: Two weeks from tonight, we will be sleeping in our new apartment!

TGI Friday's sounds yummy right now. I don't know why I am starving since I ate four pieces of pizza at dinner tonight and a piece of my mom's carrot cake.

That's an idea -- I need to practice my food porn shots so maybe I will photograph the corned beef. :thumbsup2

I have not been able to adequately plan lately since I was so sick for most of the week and I can tell that I am not nearly as relaxed as I normally am -- I need to Disney plan for my mental well-being.

I can't believe it is almost time for you to move -- the past months have really just flown by!

They have the best Jack Daniel's Burger...YUM!! That's SO awesome about C! I think it may have been the first meet for any of the gnomes! Although, Jen and you have your meet in May..looks like you'll be meeting everyone before the rest of us will! So cool that it was like catching up with an old friend! :goodvibes

And congrats on the apartment! 2 weeks to go!! :thumbsup2

Yes, practicing food porn shots is very important!

You know, I feel the same way about Disney planning. It's a stress relief and it's like it centers me. Who needs yoga when you Disney plan!? :rotfl2:

That's my new motto!!! :rotfl: You're right though -- being able to Disney plan does help center me -- it's very calming to be able to go all OCD and map out the trip. At night, I even fall asleep thinking about Disney -- not that I am obsessed or anything, I promise. :lmao:

Most of their Jack Daniel's stuff is really yummy!

I won't be meeting everyone before Gnomefest! ;)
