Didn't sleep too well, massive comfy bed but still couldn't rest. The apartment had noisy air conditioning which would have been OK if it was on all the time but kicked in now and again with a 'ping'. Anyway up at just gone 6, had a shower in the massive walk in cubicle and made a coffee and sat on the balcony.

Didn't have any breakfast as we hadn't got any supplies in yet so the plan was to go to Seaworld and get something to eat there. We had bought a Sat Nav as soon as we decided to hire a car abroad and had plenty of practise using it at home to get used to it but bless her she said some of the street names in a most peculiar way, for example she kept saying 'Orlandor' - made us laugh! Back to Seaworld, we had bought e tickets which I wanted to swap for hard tickets which we have always done in the past so made our way to guest services. The woman in the booth was quite rude saying we can use the e tickets (we know that but hard tickets are much easier to carry and not worry about getting wet and replacing them!) tried to explain but she wouldn't budge. Made our way to the guest services further in the park where a much nicer lady said they have stopped doing hard tickets 'to help the environment' - fair enough, we accepted her much more pleasant reply, if the other memeber of staff had have explained properly we would have understood, it was just her manner - good start to the day! We never did get breakfast, kept getting sidetracked by rides and attractions.

About 11.30 hunger took over and we had an early lunch in the Marketplace (sandwiches, chips and cheesecake).

Came out of there, wandered around for a bit and finally got to go up the Skytower (one of the few things we've never done at SW). Had brilliant views from the ride up but it was over too soon.

During the rest of the afternoon we saw Believe, although now the trainers are not in the water with the whales it's not so interesting. That sounds awful, of course I understand the reasoning behind not letting the trainers in with the whales but we found it a more entertaining show when they were.

Saw Pets Ahoy, which makes Ashley cry with laughter and finally fed the sealions.

It was getting late in the afternoon and we needed to call in a supermarket. There was a branch of Publix just around the corner from Floridays so we stopped there. Unfortunately we hadn't got much time (booked in at T Rex for 8pm and kids wanted to go in the pool yet) so it was a case of running around as quickly as possible grabbing what we wanted. Didn't get much, fruit bowls, cereal, milk etc. Have to say, first impression, very nice, lovely cake section and Disney merchandise section. Will have to come back when we have more time.

Anyway - back for a swim in the big pool.

Had a little while there before having to make tracks for DTD. The queue was horrendous for T Rex, checked in and given a pager, we looked at the menu so we knew what we wanted to order as soon as we sat down. We were called really quickly, probably 10 minutes or so and OMG it's so noisy in there! Absolutely brilliant place, we had 2 ADR's here last year and cancelled both as we were busy elsewhere but I was determined to keep this one and so glad I did. Had the most delicious chicken pot pie, John had a steak and cheese sandwich, Glen had a boneyard buffet and Ashley a bronto burger. We would have loved a dessert but were just too full. Came to $92 plus tip.

We then had a look around the shops where I bought a Mickey and Minnie Christmas countdown ornament - just had to have at least one Disney souvenir!

Home to bed. So proud of John being confident with the driving, thank you John, you have opened up a lot of possibilites of future holidays in USA xx.

A lovely first full day. I love the view from your room. We're big TRex fans too, did you try a cotton-tini cocktail ? they're delish :thumbsup2

Great view from the room, and what a fab pool at Floridays :goodvibes Looks like a fantastic place to stay.
I've never done the Skytower either - you had some great views there, so must think about this next time :)
Looking forward to the next day!! :thumbsup2

I can never sleep the 1st few days either:confused3

Glad you enjoyed T-Rex DD loves the Build-A-Dino there!!

Thanks for reading guys.

No Mandy I didn't try a cocktail there, doesn't take much alcohol to make me giggly (saved that experience for later in the week!) and wanted to be very sober for looking around the one Disney area we would be visiting!!!!

such a great day, we have found that since DH chose to drive that we see a whole different orlando now, and he really likes driving there now. we also have a satnav as i panic when we get lost.

We went to T-Rex twice on our last visit. the second time I had been drinkig in the afternoon sun and a headache was kicking in before I even got in there. I could not believe how loud it was. Next time will try to keep my drinking until we get there lol.
