No wbta 2013

Except my favorite, chips!!

What about a Vitamix? They can make them really itty bitty.

Can't imagine the Disney family of ships without the Magic. Would they build another to replace her? - The Magic Returns.

All these new theories have made my head spin :scared1:

Slightly OT here but I'm in the process of (finally!) reading through this whole thread and I just had to comment:
I love your avatar picture, those cats are almost heartbreakingly cute! :lovestruc

I don't really see how I can ever convince DH to buy a fourth cat (and he's totally right in refusing, of course - it IS bad enough that we're totally under the nonexistent thumbs of three of them already!) but I would adopt any one of your two at the drop of a hat!

Hi I am joining the watch for the dates of the WBTA. Hopefully the dates will be released soon.

I also would prefer the cruise to end in Florida it would save on the airfare. Venice would be a great starting point. We were in Italy in October but didn't make it to Venice.

I figure they'll announce sometime in April. Venice would be wonderful, and so would Rome (Citavecchia). But please, please, please end in Florida!

I would be in sooooo much trouble if it started in Rome! I would want to go on one of the private Viator tours of the Sistene Chapel. Extremely pricey, but you get to go in after hours (or before hours) with 15 to 20 people at the most. I'd want to go to Pomeii. I'd want to see the Collesium. I'd be broke...:lmao::lmao:

:welcome::welcome: To all those many newcomers, not been on the boards for a while. And yes we are all still waiting, and I would love the WBTA to end in PC, I'm sure we will still come where ever it ends up in the US but it would be so much less hassel ending in PC

Thanks! My teeth look great now but I will be on a modified soft diet for the next five months!!

Yes Noel they do look great, and I hope your recovery goes well. Not sure about the enforced diet, but great if you want to lose weight because it can't be anything other than successful :thumbsup2:thumbsup2

I know we haven't been around in a while but I wanted to pop over and let everyone know we're jumping ship. We're expecting our 2nd child in September and decided that the WB Panama Canal cruise works better into our plans. Hope everyone has a great time and that when they announce this one it's what you all are hoping for! :goodvibes

:cheer2::cheer2: Lauren congratulations to you and your family that's great news:cheer2::cheer2: and hopefully our paths will cross again in the future when you enjoy DCL with both your little ones !

Rome is great. You can see a lot in one day. I did that ones. I've seen the St. Pieter (not the sistene chapel), Forum Romanum, The colleseum from the outside, We walked to the Trevi Fountain and that all in one day. But go to Pompeii is to far to do in one day as you stay in Rome. So you had to go a couple of days before the ship leave to do that all.
But I would love to leave from Rome or Venice.

I have mentioned it before, but just in case someone from DCL is reading this thread to find out about customer preferences (one can hope!):

Here is another vote for having the WBTA start in Venice (or Rome, but preferring Venice) and end in Port Canaveral - that would be fabulous! :flower3:

We did the Pristine Sistine tour with Walks of Italy and were in the Sistine Chapel an hour prior to opening. We had maybe 30 people in the Chapel, (our group and a couple other small groups and private tours), with us and we were in for about 45minutes. Very nice and peaceful. You really had an opportunity to look around and take in the art.

We went back through the chapel and hour after it opened to the public and it was a mad house. I was actually concerned about getting trampled in the mob:rotfl:

The Pristine Sistine tour was very reasonable around 90euros/ person and the guides were very good.

You could do Pompeii in a day from Rome but it would be a long day. We went to Herculaneum because Pompeii was flooded and the tour we had of Herculaneum was excellent.

I still vote for Barcelona as a starting point! One reason I'm going again is to show DH Barca and see at least some of the stuff I missed last time!

I wouldn't mind Barcelona either, but I really would like the final port to be Port Canaveral.

Any where in Europe is good for the starting point, but Galveston for the ending point would make me question taking the cruise. It is a big reason why I discounted the EBTA the cost for us to fly to/from Galveston is almost double Orlando. I also like the idea of being in Orlando to do the F&W festival;)

I completely agree. I honestly don't care where it starts be it Barcelona, Rome, Venice, heck even someplace in Germany, :lmao: but it HAS to end in Florida. So PLEASE higher ups, take your time deciding where and when it's going to start but PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE have it end up in Florida (I don't even care which side!):thumbsup2

I'll have to admit, I don't have a "this is a deal breaker" attitude as to where it starts: Barcelona, Rome, or Venice. Yeah, I'd love Rome or Venice, but I'd be satisfied with Barcelona. There are many spots in Europe that would make me interested.

BUT...that debarkation point may well determine whether I go or not. DCL reps: PC makes the most sense $$ wise - after all there is the F&W Festival and MNSSHP going on.

I'm being repetitive...but maybe this way someone who decides these things will notice our preferences?

Would love to see start in Venice. DH and I visited there in October with ABD and fell in love with with it. PC is perfect IMHO..time at our DVC home for Food and Wine and/or Halloween would be a wonderful way to end the trip.

Don't care where we leave out (BUT Venice would be a great beginning! ;)). There is so much you can see on your own in Rome! DH and I think our day in Rome while we were on the Mediterranean cruise was one our best adventures while on that cruise. I had everything planned months before the cruise...even had the Sistine Chapel tickets pre-bought (and was so glad that I did because by the time we got there the line was 1/2 mile long!!). We took the trail and got off in Rome right where the Colleseum was. Awesome! :thumbsup2 Then we walked to see the Pantheon and the Trevi Fountain. The fountain was amazing and also VERY crowded! We tried taking the bus to The Sistene Chapel because we had tickets for a certain time and had a little time to spare......well... wound up going the wrong way on the bus and had to get off to hail a cab. Now THAT was an interesting adventure we hadn't planned on! It was like being in a movie where this little cab was zipping in and out of places that you knew a car was not meant to go and the whole time, the cabbie is talking on his cell phone. I held my breath so many times knowing we were going to make it.....but our cab driver pulled it off and had us there safe and sound with a little time to spare! Rome was wonderful and would love to go back! :yay::yay:

Hey, that's actually not a bad idea at all! :rolleyes1
Did I mention that I live about a half-hour subway ride away from Europe's third biggest port, complete with its own cruise ship terminal? You could all come round to our place for a cup of coffee before we all go board the Magic! :lmao:

No, but jokes aside, I don't really care which European port the WBTA starts from (as long as it finishes in PC!) but I would like it to be somewhere nice and warm and mediterranean, where one could throw in a couple days' sightseeing before the cruise. Not Southampton or Dover or, for that matter, anyplace in Germany in October if possible please DCL ... :flower3:

That's exactly what I'm hoping as well ...
So come on DCL, read this thread already, we DO know what's best for the Magic! :thumbsup2

There's a lot that I haven't read here, but have many of you done a previous WBTA? Was the weather such that you could use a verandah?
