No wbta 2013

Hi Dan.. I have to agree. ::yes::

It's not about the ports, it's about the people!!! Maybe that should be our tagline..? ;)

Cannot WAIT to meet up with some lovely old friends. And make some fab new ones...

:thumbsup2:thumbsup2 yes I agree, I would choose different destinations, but the friends we met WBTA 2011 made our holiday. We had fun taking part in different activities. And it felt like we were friends at our first meeting after all the chat on the boards. We would be over the moon if this cruise takes place ...... the planning was as much fun as the cruise last time.

:welcome::welcome: To the many people that have joined this thread in just the last 24 hours..... it's just amazing

Can't we be lovely old friends and fab at the same time?

Paul
Lovely, fab and old?!! Yeah, Paul, of course!!! If that's what you want... ;)

or fab lovely new friends ..;)
ALL friends = fab and lovely - the old is optional...

:woohoo: It's going to be ..er... Magical, Margaret!!!

I look forward to meeting you both...

And I'm excited as I finally get the opportunity to induct my husband into the cult of the Transatlantic!!! :rotfl2:

I knew it was a cult! :rotfl2:
OOPS!!! Did I give that away too quickly??

:rotfl2::rotfl2: Well Holly the secrets out, but none of the hard stuff Mickey dosen't approve.....lol but then again what he doesn't see won't hurt him

margaret

Mickey see no hard stuff, hear no hard stuff, taste no hard stuff... That sorta thing...?

Skye, first off let me say I am sorry:sad2:..............I should not have copied your post. It made it soooooooooooooo much bigger. I hope Kevin does not see it. I hope I didn't spoil your surprise.:confused3

Second - This is a surprise for Donna as well. We have been kicking around a vacation in Hawaii for a couple of years now. And we were planning on going in another couple of years or so. But we got to talking one week a few weeks ago, and she said that if Disney ever went back to the Med she would really love to be on the sailing that brings the ship back to Florida. Well to make a long story short, i came across this thread, and well, you know the rest. So we both have surprises for our spouses.:thumbsup2

David - you can go back and edit your post if you wish. I know I edited mine a few times to make it less obvious.

Wow JessicasMom just told me about this thread yesterday and you guys are already on page 31!

We are definitely in again. Lauren, James and DD Lorelei

When we got home last time we told the TA that if the WBTA was happening in 2013 we would definitely be on that ship. Glad to see so many returning people.

I hope we do get to go to Venice that would just make things extra exciting.

So glad to have another familiar face aboard! Lorelei will be soooo big by then...she'll have a completely different experience this time. Maybe Mom and Dad can have a little more alone time :lovestruc.

Would love to go on WBTA in 2013 if offered - keeping our fingers crossed - because we had a blast on the 2010 WBTA! We've got to see how things play out though! Booked Hawaii October 2012!

I didn't do a trip report for our 2010 WBTA but I did (finally) finish a photobook. Hoping the link I post works. Enjoy!

Thanks for sharing :thumbsup2. I didn't even realize it was the 2010 WB instead of the 2011 (which we were on) until the end...but I couldn't figure out why you didn't look familiar. Guess I should read a bit closer, huh.

Ok Is this less depressing

Although I was really looking forward to driving everybody round the twist with a daily update. Also my post count would have gone up to over 600.
Not depressing at all, but it's a good thing I don't have a seizure disorder :goodvibes....or motion sickness!

Pat, we did the 'whatever' too. LOL
Weren't the views wonderful going up/down and from the Church...we loved it.

We especially liked looking down into people's gardens and houses but wouldn't want to live under that 'whatever'. No privacy whatsoever. LOL

:scared1::scared1: indeed some of those houses looked like they had no right to be there according to the law of gravity !!!
The whole scene was so pretty, even down to the fruit trees growing in peoples gardens
:thumbsup2:thumbsup2 I liked Madeira, we had a wonderful dinner in Palo watching Madeira turn to dusk then dark, and the light's come up..... much wonderful memories, lets hope we get another chance to relive them

margaret

Oh, yes! We really enjoyed checking out the houses and gardens. And we made sure we bought return tickets that time! (Unlike Gibraltar - schlepping down that freakin' rock. But that's another story. At least I didn't get mugged by the apes - like some people we know. ;) ;) ) And Margaret, you definitely were NOT drinking at the bar/restaurant at the tram station, no matter what anyone says.

What happens on the WBTA stays on the WBTA? ;)

No it doesn't. It ends up in Kirby the Bear's newsletter. Kirby sees all, tells all. Bwah-ha-ha!

And I'm excited as I finally get the opportunity to induct my husband into the cult of the Transatlantic!!! :rotfl2:

I knew it was a cult! :rotfl2:

It's not a cult, it's a movement. The Disney Magic Westbound Transatlantic Anti-Massacree Movement. And all you have to do to join is sing it the next time it comes around on the guitar. With feeling.

I wonder if Kirby will come on this one too? James and I have been wondering if we might run into him on another sailing. Also I have a pic of you guys with one of the characters. Somehow it ended up on our photo CD. PM me your email and I'll get it to you... probably not too quickly because I have to find it again...but I'll get it to you. :goodvibes

 Bless him!! Ann organised these on our 25th Wedding Anniversary Western Caribbean cruise back in September 2007 and I always remember VERY fondly that Richard wore his for weeks afterwards - underneath his work shirts... :goodvibes

I found mine too !!!:lmao: That was so much fun...We did the B2B2B that cruise... I met soooo many Dis'res I cant remember which part of the cruise!!!
:laughing::laughing::laughing:

Ann

PS....:wave2: Sarah...Andrea... Warren and Abs....How many more??

One thing I found odd on the 2010 WBTA and wondered if it was different on the 2011 was that because they moved the late evening caberet show into the theatre, that Rockin' Bar D and the rest of that area was overly quiet?

Where on a normal cruise people would slowly drift away from Rockin' Bar D after the caberet, and maybe stay a while to finish drinks and see what was on after, we quite often found that there only a dozen or so people in there for the later night entertainment, as most people went straight back to their cabins from the theatre.

Maybe there should be a Happy Hour after the show? :rockband:party:

Done. I don't know why I did that, and why I didn't think to edit it myself. A mind is a terrible thing to waste!!!:confused3:sad2:

We took the cable car up the top to see the views and met up with Mary & Stevie, we had a drink & took some photos then walked around the corner to see the straw baskets & came back down in the cable car. We then walked through the town and went into the supermarket to stock up on some essentials (aka booze ;) ) then we stopped off at a bar for a beer & used the free wifi before heading back to the ship.

That was a lovely day out in Madeira, it great bumping into you guys up at the top cafe :cool1: remember Stevie spotted Charro up there, not looking as wonderful as she did the night before, without her make up on and hair done :rotfl2::rotfl2:

We did the cable car / church / basket ride / walk back to town combo the first time around. Last time we did the Santa Maria ship tour. Both were really good ways to experience Madeira. Next time ... we may just pop into town for a coffee and general wander about , and pick up some supplies at the supermarket ... the wine was cheaper there than Morrissons if I remember correctly.

Now that sounds like a plan .... Palo for Madeira evening ( definitely not for Tortola evening )

As Claire said, we went into a supermarket and major stocked up on wine/bubbly to see us across the big pond, it was really cheap and might not struggle so much carrying it all back from Morrisons again :lmao:

I agree Sarah, now there's a definite plan :thumbsup2 Margaret that sounds lovely :lovestruc

We're the same Margaret, this would be our 3rd WBTA and would be seeing the same ports again that we have seen on many med cruises and eastern caribbean cruises, but it's the amazing people that you meet and the atmosphere on the TA cruises that you just can't beat :) Sitting chatting in the departure lounge at London City Airport with yourselves and Josh, we had no idea just what fantastic fun lay ahead with you all and the brilliant friends we would make this time around :cool1:

It was mixed on the WBTA 2011, some of the bigger acts like John Charles and Alfred and Seymour were in the WD Theatre, but Hawley Magic were in Rockin Bar D
