looking at the all ears site and their refurbishment schedule it appears that Test Trak and Buzz Lightyear will be closed when we visit in January...

4 kids two of their three favorite attractions...I don't want to break that news to them but I think I should start now so they head out knowing that they won't get to enjoy them

It's unfortunate, but it is one of the tradeoffs of visiting in the off-season. You trade large crowds and long hours with everything open for small crowds, shorter hours, and rehabs.

I'm sure you'll have a great time anyway!

Bob

I'm so sorry. I can't believe that! I hope that you will have a great time anyway. I would be crushed if we couldn't do our usual 4 rounds of Buzz!!!!

Yep, I can relate. Buzz is scheduled to reopen the day after we are in MK so we will have to be going back to that park for at least part of a day. Test Track is closed the whole time we are there too. Boys are majorly bummed as this was the first trip they were big enough to do it and they were both looking forward to it. We have never had something this big closed when we have gone before.

Aw man! I'm so sorry. I could MAYBE get over missing Buzz, but my kids would refuse to go if TT wasn't going to be open. ;) You'll have loads of fun anyway and it'll give you a great reason to start planning another trip! :Pinkbounc

Thing I hate about this is, when you look at the crowd dates for that time on UG's site, most days are 6's and 5's and a couple of 7's. Yet in September the crowds are listed as 4's and 5's, meaning much less people, yet January has way more rides under refurbishment! There are some unlucky people out there, who could miss Buzz, Splash and Test Track. I've never known them to shut down so many big draws at once! We've been when just Space or just Big thunder etc, but never a big one in a couple of parks. It is a shame!

I called the park and asked they denied Buzz would be out of commission...is the information from WDW that unreliable?

Now you've really got my hopes up that BUZZ will be open. OOOHHHH!
I'm not even going to tell DS7 & get his hopes up.

I just got back and all info said that the haunted mansion would be closed but they did have it open something like 4 days a week and closed 3 days a week maybe something like this will occur with buzz.

Oh no! you mean the info might be wrong? B/c if those are open some days-I 'd love to know and make a special trip to do them, ds's are sad about those closures too- if HM was closed, they'd boycott the whole park! Actually, we'll spend quite a bit of time over at the other(ahem) large theme parks w/ characters...I was going to spend some extra for Dis tix than I had planned, then when I saw the big things we loved were closed, I figured if we had other stuff to do, they wouldn't be as disappointed. pirate:

us too ... it's a bummer for sure, but there were lots of things that we didn't get to last time because we rode Buzz and TT so much. So I'm trying to see it as an opportunitity to broaden our horizons. (hmph. sure. ) ;)

Trust you me....I made doubly sure it was Buzz we were talking about. The CM looked twice and assured me it was not on the list for our stay (Jan 4-11). I guess only time will tell! :confused3
