No water effects?

I just saw some news during the CM preview that all the water effects are off (Splash Mountain apparently had one too at the drop). Anyone know if these will be on when the park opens? My kids rather liked being spit on by the camel on the magic carpets. I get not using splash pad style ones, but not sure why they would turn off the others.

That makes a lot of sense, you are probably right. I'm curious on people's experience with a wet mask after a downpour down there as well now. We plan on bringing a large collection of various types of masks so we can swap if need be.

FWIW, the water cannons on Splash were off, but the camel was spitting yesterday when I was there for CM preview. I know for sure because I got hit by it!

The mist is off at POTC. No water effects at Bugs Life, was on at Philharmagic. Kind of inconsistent on WDW property.
