I have to share wonderful news.
Some of you may remember awhile ago I started trying to find info about having a WDW vow renewal for DH & my 25 anniversay. Well that was a couple years ago, and it didn't work out because my husbands company outsourcing finally caught up with DH & he lost his job after 23 yrs with a major communication company. So, the vr is on hold. As a matter of fact we thought all our WDW vacations were going to be on hold. DH is working 2 partime jobs & taking care of our 4yo dd during the day. I am working 1 full time & 1 part time & we are just about getting by. Well, our most wonderful teenage children decided that if they bought there own airline tix & we used left over passes we had, & we stayed at the dvc resort we have....we just might be able to do this. So, no vr but......WE ARE GOING TO WDW!!! We got great prices on flights. My work schedule vacation time was booked all of July & August, there was very limited time in June, but if we leave the night of my teens last day of school & come back the following Thursday, we can do it. I am so excited! There won't be any "extras" and meals in the villa, but WE ARE GOING!!!!! So, anyone going to be there June 14-19? You'll know us, we'll be the ones with the 3 17 year olds with halos

You and your husband are obviously very loving parents to have raised such thoughtful children! And congratulations on your 25th anniversary!!

Just a thought...why don't you and your hubby sneak off somewhere (or include your children) and do your own little vow renewal. I realize that you're not allowed to have a ceremony unless you go through Disney, but you two could just say some loving words to one another and have your own special moment to reaffirm your love for one another. I would think it would be similar to an engagement and Disney has no problem with that. Then head off to a special dinner or something.

Best wishes!

Oh wow - what fantastic kids you have! Give them a big hug for me, and HAVE FUN at WDW!!!

What thoughtful kids. Sometimes we look at our children and realize we are so blessed. Have a wondrful trip. We stay in a one bedroom villa when we go to WDW (Booking via central reservations). I make most of our meals in--breakfast is fast and easy. We usually get a small lunch at the lands in epcot or bowl of clam chower in the bread bowl or the fish and chips. I make our dinner the night before --- using the big kettle like a crockpot. Roasts. briskets, and pork roast (the pork I made into one of the best bbq) are 3 of our favs. I love to freeze the water bottles for the next day --- now that is a savings.

If you are wondering why we pay so much for a room then cook meals in. My husband uses a electric wheelchair to get around so being at the beach club makes our park tranportation a breeze. He is also able to eat regular meals prepared like I would at home-- this keeps him on a regular diet.

Have a wonderful time ----

Ps bring seasonings from home. A suit case of food would be good. I even freeze the meats I plan on using-- bacon, ham, dinner meats---- and pack those. traveling from the west coast I have never had any trouble with any items thawing to soon or any issues at all other wise.

Hope you have a magical trip! What sweet kids you have raised! For my parents 25th my brother and I gave them a surprise party, that included new dresses and lots of scams to get 3 toddler sisters to not tell and it was so great--it made even my dad cry!!

Congrats on 25 years!

ps our wedding is the 18th! look for us!

How sweet of them!!!

Congratulations and have a magical time!:wizard:

Oh, sweetie! What wonderful children you have raised! I am so sorry things are difficult for your family right now, financially, but you have right in front of you proof that the most precious treasures in our lives are our children. :grouphug: How awesome that your family will share that time together! Enjoy planning for the trip. We will be there a week later. I'm sorry we'll miss you. It would have been fun to say "hi"!

That is wonderful. You have the best kids ever! I hope you have a MAGICAL time at Disney! pixiedust:

What a wonderful story-I wish you both a wonderful vacation!!:lovestruc

You might want to head over to the guest relations and ask for a "Just Married" or "Anniversary" pin. (I'm not sure they make vow renewel pins, but you could improvise. You might end up with some extra goodies from Disney throughout your trip!

I agree that you guys should sneak off and do your own special vow renewel ceremony. I just mean with each other, not hiring an officiant. You could bring your own vows & read them to each other in some very romantic places in WDW!!

-On the beach at Polynesian Resort at night during Wishes
-At the Boardwalk
-In front of MK castle
-On the dock at the Beach Club
-By the geyser at the Wilderness Lodge

Thank you all so very much. DH & my 25th was actually in Nov '07. We have privately renewed our vows.

All of you who have responded have truly know Idea who appreciative I am of each of your comments.... I cried. I am blessed and hearing (or reading) that others confirm that fact makes me even more grateful for all that I have.

dalepool, Thank you for all the great tips. Have you ever considered renting points from a dvc member. My dh & are have never rented before, but I've heard many good experiences from the renters & rentees. there is a dvc renter log on this site as well.

Keenercam, I wish we would be there the same time. I would love to meet you in person. I love reading your pj. I am so happy for you & your dh.

love2b@disney... sounds like your parents are very fortunate also. Best of luck to you on your upcoming wedding. I will be looking for you.
