No tumbling monkeys at FOTLK?

Today we spent the morning at AK. We had FP for FOTLK, but I was disappointed that the tumbling monkeys part was not included in the show. Is this a change? They were there in September.

We were there and missed those tumbling monkeys as well! I noticed there were only three so I'm wondering if one of them maybe called in sick or couldn't make the show so they canceled?

We were there a little over two weeks ago and the monkeys WERE a part of the show. I wonder what happened since then.

Maybe a "monkey" is hurt or sick? It stinks either way as they are a great part of the show!!

Strange! Everytime I've seen the show, the tumble monkeys have been there. Sorry about that!

That's what we thought must have happened. I doubt they could do their part missing one, and there were only three. Hopefully we will get a chance to go back later in the week and they will be performing

We were there on Thurs. There were 4 tumble monkeys who did a brief 2 + 2 shoulder stand but none of their normal routine. We just assumed one of the 'real' monkeys was off sick and they couldn't do their normal routine with a stand-in.

Could have been 1 or more ill/injured monkeys or it could be an equipment problem with the mats/ platforms?.

Was there something unusual in the weather/humidity? Many years ago, on my first time seeing FOLK, it was super-cold, and there were no tumble monkeys. A CM told me that they had something in their contract about not performing in certain weather. However, that was before the theater was enclosed like it is now, so I'm not sure if that's the reason.

When the FoLK first opened, the theater was open-air.
It's possible that the weather conditions could have been a factor back then.
But, that first FoLK theater was eventually fully-enclosed and air-conditioned.

Now, they are in an even newer theater that is also enclosed and air-conditioned.

Definitely could be one of them was ill since that is a highly specialized position they cannot just come up with a replacement. I met the father of one of the tumble monkeys once and they were from Cuba where the son had been on the Cuban Olympic gymnastics team. I am always so impressed by their routine and skill. Best part of the show.

We saw the show about a week ago and all 4 monkeys were there, but there was obviously some problem with the equipment. They just cut Timon's narrative halfway through a sentence and they all just kind of had to stand there for about 2 minutes, it was awkward.

Actually in that show quite a few things went wrong; the microphone didn't work for Be Prepared and a stage tech had to run up with a new one. Then the harness didn't work for one of the dancers in Can you feel the love tonight, and she didn't fly. Despite all that, the performers did a great job rolling with the punches, all very professional.

We just got back on 10/30 and there were monkeys during the show we saw which would have been around 10/25 or 10/26 that did the full routine. No other issues either as far as faulty equipment, etc but I'm sure things like that happen all of the time with the number of shows they do.

Was there mid October right around the 20/21, and I managed to get some great tumbling monkey photos on my new camera. They are seriously one of my favorite parts of that show...
