No Transatlantic dates for 2017 yet? Also, do most categories sell out quickly?

Just noticed that May 2017 dates are out but no Transatlantic sail dates yet. I assume those will be finalized along with summer sail dates?

Also, I'm amazed at how quickly it appears some categories sell out and how much pricier cruises seem than the last time I browsed them. We would only sail in a family verandah as we are a family of five, but I don't think I have ever seen an inside stateroom available. Am I imagining these things?

Thanks in advance for any info you can share with a cruise newbie.

Transatlantic cruises sell amazingly slowly and are usually a good value if you calculate the per person per night cost. The itineraries for the eastbound transatlantic are generally released with the summer offerings and the westbound with the fall offerings.

Are you looking for an inside cabin for 5 guests? If so, it's not that the inside cabins are sold out, just that none can hold 5 guests. (Same is true in other categories, if you are looking for cabins that fit 5 guests. On the classic ships, there are no outside cabins that hold 5 guests either, you have to go all the way to a Family Verandah cabin to be able to fit 5 in one cabin. The Dream class ships do have more family of 5 options in oceanview and verandah but they are limited so they do probably sell out faster than cabins that only fit 3-4 guests.) Some families of 5 choose to have 2 cabins rather than one but that might depend on the ages of the kids. If they are smaller, you may want to get connecting cabins (2 inside cabins or two outside cabins). If they are a little older, you can get one verandah cabin and one inside cabin across the hall. You have a lot more selection if you have less than 5 in a single cabin.

Ah, yes! That makes sense. I didn't go back and switch it out to 4 guests. Thanks for the suggestions on cabin configurations! I will wait patiently for sail dates to be released. Chomping at the bit here!
