No Studios on May 28

I just called DVC for a last minute trip...there are NO Studios at all for the night of Saturday, May 28! I've never had that happen!

I'm hoping something comes up!! I'll be calling several times a day and I'm WL for OKW.

Anyone else have any tips/suggestions? What do you think my chances are???

I would call daily. I would think a studio somewhere would become available but it really depends on who\what grabs it the quickest. I wouldn't trust it to the WL coming through.

Well, you still have a couple weeks before you hit the 31 day mark. So something might come through. Did you put your name on the waitlist too? I have been amazed at how well the waitlist has been working lately. I would do that and call. I would make a back-up reservation at a regular WDW resort, just in case.

Off to check prices on a regular room...good thing it's just me if I have to move 3 times in 4 nights.

I'm not at all surprised, considering that it's Memorial Day weekend and VWL is one of the smallest DVC resorts. I suspect it was booked solid for that weekend a long time ago.

It 's a holiday weekend and only a month away....No surprise there. I'd be much more surprised if you came on here and said you GOT a studio for May 28th!

I called yesterday and booked a "last-minute" trip for SSR from May 29-June 3. SSR was the only place available for all of the nights (didn't occur to me to try for a split stay). The biggest issue I was having was that most places did not have studio availability for our first night, May 29.

I didn't try for WL. WL in my previous post means Wait List. Sorry for the confusion!

I tried for OKW, SSR and AKV since they are the largest. Several of the resorts had the 30th and 31st open still.

I would WL SSR too. You will have a better chance.

Have you considered getting a 1BR? Often a 1BR is available when the studios are gone, but since it's a holiday weekend, who knows?

There are 1 bedrooms, but it's a solo getaway and we are a bit point poor, so I'm trying to avoid that....but it's better than being homeless I suppose!

I got one! I called earlier today and nothing...so I called at about 4:50 pm (eastern) and got SSR for the WHOLE trip.



But...now...I might rent out the points and stay at All Star Movies. I'm a TA and want to experience a Value for a decent length trip, and I've never stayed at the All Stars. Plus if I could rent the points it would more than pay for my room. And it's a solo run-through-the-parks-until-I-drop trip, I truly don't need a studio! We'll see what I decide though...

A lot of people are making the mistake that you can book last minute and as you see it touch.

I would go on a wait list.
