This will be the first time without a stroller. My DD, 6, is too tall for the stroller. My husband wants me to get a padded backpack. He carries a huge camera bag, so he can't help. What is the best way to carry all the stuff???:scratchin

We've decided to use fanny packs....I loaded mine up this weekend, with what I think we'll be bringing in the parks...which included

MINE
Credt card case with PH's and CC's - Disney Dollars and ID's(room key will also go in here)
Vouchers and park map
itinerary, with PS's and kids picks on it
DD7's autograph book and pen
3 extra rolls of film and 35MM camera
DD7's light twirler thing from Disney Store
smallest bottle of benadryl I could find
small tube of bug stick

DH's
DD6's autograph book and pen
DD6's light twirler thing from Disney Store
Digital Camera, and extra battery
SunBlock
Moleskin and very small scissors
band aides- 3
pain-a-way (similar to tylenol) DH had these at his last business in the first aide cabinet, so they are in the individual dose packets)
Extra sunglasses for both DD's incase the ones on their head get lost.
fruit snacks, and bubblegum

Both of these also have 2 water bottle holders. We loaded these up, including the water bottles, and brought them on our nightly family walk. I wore mine on the back for 1/2 and front for 1/2 and must say it was the same each way. We walk 3 miles each night, so it's similar to what we'll be doing at WDW. and we dont stop during our walks here at home, where we will there

I think I'll wear mine on the front...DH didnt say which way he'll be wearing his.

There was a post on here that I made with the link to Eastern Mountain Sports where I got them.

Me & my DH carry fanny packs for our personal stuff, money tickets, camera, etc. . But for all the other stuff I carry a back pack, we alternate who cariies it. We keep the autograph books and pens easily accessible in the front pouch. We have three kids and it is more troublesome for them to have their own fanny packs, because they find some reason to take them off. This way we can keep a couple rain ponchos, sun screen and snacks in there, and anything else we pick up along the way.

UGH I hated that transitional period when we first stopped using the stroller LOL
If we plan on being in the parks all day & we use a back pack plus we all have our own fanny packs. We usually carry water in the back pack, so it gets lighter as the day goes on anyway. After a while you end up taking less and less with you.

We've rented a locker several times to put a change of clothes on or to put jackets in when they're no longer needed during the day. It takes an extra trip to get to the front of the park if you need something you've stowed, but it's a great way to offload some of the stuff you don't need all day.

We usually have a large backpack stuffed with camera and cancorder, water bottles, snacks, etc., and the kids both have a fannypack to put a few personals in they they might want during the day.

The big stuff stays in the locker until we need it. If we don't end up needing it we will not have had lugged it through the park all day long.
