No show on Jet Blue??

I have reservations on Jet Blue for my DH, DS and myself at the end of Aug. It's looking like my DH won't be able to make the trip because of a work related conflict. If he cancels I doubt within the next year he will use the credit (which won't be very much once you deduct the change/cancel fee). So what I'm wondering is, if he is a no show and we just forfiet the fare could they actually sell his seat to someone else at the last minute? We have three seats reserved together in one row. If he doesn't go it would be nice to have an empty seat to give us a little extra room.

Maybe if you check him in when you do the 24 hour check in for yourselves the seat may not be sold?
I am curious to see what answers you get!

Unless he shows up the seat can be taken. The only way to have two seats is to pay for them both in the name of the passenger who actually gets on the plane (and then you have to be prepared to defend it!)

The seat will be sold! Had the same situation.

If it's a full flight, they will seat a standby in his seat.

Kinda figured that. Right now there are still several seats open but we are still 3 weeks out so who knows!! :confused3
If my DH doesn't go I wouldn't really want to take a seat from someone who needs it. On the other hand.....my DS17 is 6'3 - 210lbs and I'm definitely not petite either, and slightly claustrophobic on planes. ;) So I would be very happy to have the extra space.

Really?? If you paid for two seats in your name they could actually tried to seat someone there. That's crazy!

Btw Orange County Commuter.....would that be Orange County FL or CA? Cause....not to change the subject but if is CA I sure could use some advice about driving in the area. This trip is my 1st to the DLR and I'm thinking about renting a car (we always rent when in WDW) but I'm really nervous about driving to and from LAX.

When I booked our seats on JetBlue, the website asked if both seats were for me. If you want to keep the space, would it be worth it to you to have the name on his seat changed to yours?

I'm not OCC, but I've gotta say that if you're ONLY going to and from DLR and maybe Universal, I'd book onto one of the shuttles instead. I'm not a local, but we've visited SOCAL quite a bit, and LA traffic, especially the freeways, is no fun at all.

Getting a bit off track here.. But check out the Disneyland board here on the Dis for good travel info.
We always rent a car in Disneyworld but got a car service from LAX to Disneyland (with a 20 minute grocery stop included). We stayed at Disneyland Hotel and did not feel the need for a car at all.

Or maybe have the extra seat changed into your son's name since his 6 foot plus status might grant him "person of size in need"?
My nephew is 6 foot 5 inches and is in agony every time he flies with no place to put his legs!

Doubtful, DH is 6'7" and they just offer him extra legroom seats at an increased price.

You cannot change the passenger name on an airline ticket from another person's to yours. The POS policy on airlines covers overweight passengers, not tall passengers. I do not know if JetBlue has a POS policy.

People drive fast and then they go slow very suddenly. And vice versa. They change lanes quickly. The speed limit has nothing to do with reality.

Other than that it's simple.

That said, if you don't NEED a car, just take a shuttle. I personally like Karmel Shuttle over any of the others.
