No Sew Blanket gone wrong but...looks good....

I made the suggestion to my daughter yesterday as we were in this new HUGE JoAnn Fabric store about a half hour from us that she make some of the no sew fleece blankets for Christmas gifts. She thought that was a great idea. I told her I'd get the instructions from here and it'd be easy. Well as we were looking around we found some "leftover" Pink Ribbon (Breast Cancer) fleece and she wanted to get it and make our cat a new blanket for her to use. So we got home and she decided she'd like a little stuffing inside it. So, after church, I got out to our local JF and get some fluff. So as I'm having a meeting at my house this afternoon, she's cutting the strips, ties them together and stuffs the "blanket". I don't know what she did wrong but the "blanket" turned into a round pillow. It looks cute!!!! And with the stuffing it really looks like a pillow. Cat isn't quite sure about it (but loved laying on the fabric last night so I know she liked the fleece). So if the cat ends up not liking it, we'll add some more fluff and make into more of a pillow for our basement.

Did she remember to cut the 5' square out of each corner before she cut the strips? That could make it look round. Also, after making many of these throws, I learned that they look better if you have two people on opposite sides of the throw tying at the same time. It's something about each of you pulling against each other or something. Does that make any sense?

Last year I was going to make the blankets for all the kids on my list but then got lazy as time seemed to slip by so I bought bed pillows and tied the fleece around them......They were a huge hit and the kids all asked if I was going to make them again this year!

I also made a small one for our dog and he loves his blankie!! He drags it around the house with him.

No, she forgot to cut out the corners. That's why it went round. Then we were worried because the cat seemed to not like it so I put it up on top of these tote buckets that we have in front of our living room windows so she can see out (long story) and yesterday that's where she was found - on top of her new bed. And she hardly moved from there. Made my dd feel so much better, that she actually really liked it.

Glad to hear it all worked out for you. My cats and dog love to lay on the throw that I bought last year. Sometimes I practically have to fight them for it.
