Can you keep these no-see-ums at bay with a bug spray like OFF, and are they more active at night or do the prefer to eat during the day??
Thanks.
Thanks.
Boy, that sounds familiar. We spent 10 days in Sanibel this May, and I absolutely got annhilated by those things. I finally went to Jerry's Supermarket, and asked a guy stocking the shelves what the locals do. He recommended Florida Swamp Spray; he said it's what city issues to the guys working on the road crews. I figured if it was good enough for them, it was good enough for me. It's some really strong, stinky stuff, but it does work.Originally posted by jbthi
I have got to be the no-see-um queen. They eat me up when no one else gets a bite. To make it worse I'm allergic to any insect bites. They always get infected. We stay on Sanibel for 4 months or so in the winter and it has to be the no-see-um and mosquito capital of the nation.
My far the best thing I have found is Florida Swamp Spray repellant and take an histamine (I take it only at night because it makes me too sleepy) to keep them from getting so infected.
