No rose for Master Gracey?

Hi all, we were at the Magic Kingdom last Saturday and there was no rose on Master Gracey's tombstone at the Haunted Mansion. Anyone know when and/or why they stopped doing that? I know the story has changed a little with the addition of the black widow, but the rose was always there when we visited last September, after the refurb.

Also, the unofficial hidden Mickey in the ballroom was done with bowls instead of saucers, so it wasn't... quite... right...

HM is my favorite and I'm always looking for tidbits of info about it

They placed fresh roses on the graves to celebrate the reopening of the Haunted Mansion after the refurb, then let them wither and decay into dust. There normally aren't roses on the tombstones.

Really? I'll have to go back and check my pics from the past, because it seems like there has always been a single rose on top of the stone. I think there was a bunch actually on the grave after the refurb.

Then again, my old mind could be playing tricks on me...

Normally, no rose on the tombstone. Right after the refurb, the roses on the graves and the tombstone were beautiful. That only lasted a couple of days. When I went back, they were curled up and looked very appropriate for a creepy graveyard. Eventually, they disappeared.

Yes, they did get rid of the ring. I spoke to an Imagineer at the exit one day and he said they removed it because they were tired of CMs telling unauthorized backstories about the attraction.

And that was definitely a killer video!

Okay -- so, to save my sanity I went and looked at some pics from past years -- and the rose was there! I'm not imagining things! Not that there's anything wrong with that...

The first pic is from 2006 and the other is from sometime in the 90's -- not the best pic because I wanted to reply quickly and took a picture of the picture (it was the days before digital) and you can barely see the red of the rose...

It's also in my HM video, along with the ring, but they're both hard to see because of the way I stylized it...

We have been going to MK for several years and the fresh rose was ALWAYS on the tombstone. I looked for it during this past December trip and our trip last week, no rose. But there was most definately a rose on that tombstone during all my past visits.

In past trips, I remember seeing a fresh red rose on Master Gracey's Tombstone. However, when DH and I were there in October 2007, it wasn't there. I was a little disappointed!
