No Rooms??

Anyone know what is happening the weekend of Feb. 7th? I tried to make reservations and there is no rooms anywhere. Just wondering if something is happening that I have no idea about.

I'm going on the weekend of Jan 25, when I looked on Monday there were rooms at all 3 All-Stars and Pop, I looked again Wed and only Sports had preferred rooms and Pop had both. I booked. The next day DD24 tried to book and all rooms at Pop and All Stars are gone, even regular price. Not sure whats going on. On my weekend its rated 4's on crowd level. So its suppose to be slow.

Are you talking about this year? If so, that is Mardi Gras (it is 2/05) week so I know it is supposed to be pretty busy.

Someone posted elsewhere that there is a cheerleading competition that week too. I was trying to book then, and the cheapest thing that came up was the Fort Wilderness Cabins for $260 a night. Not what I was looking for!

I did see some great off-site deals, if you want to go that route.

It is probably cheerleading comps because they budget all value resorts. It is mardi gras for LA but from what I hear that won't put a dent on the crowds and neither will the cheerleaders during the day. Rated a 4 and should still be looking at lower crowds for the time.

I'm pretty sure there's cheerleading that week.

There's a field hockey showcase at WWoS Feb 7 to Feb 10th and there are almost 100 teams... each with up to 18 people plus coaches participating..

That's a lot of people.. And then yes, I think there is a cheer/dance thing happening at MGM.

The Dance Competition is from Feb 1 - 3, and the Cheerleaders are Feb 4-8. Their packages allow them to book rooms at all of the values as well as CBR.

Mardi Gras is Feb 5 and most of LA is out of school that whole week and many are taking advantage of the week off to vacation in WDW.

I thought that it was the marathon too. But that is this upcoming weekend. The cheerleading/dance competition makes sense. But there were not even rooms at any Mods or Deluxe resorts??

My SIL and daugher are going to CSR for a convention held there and they are staying there. I belive the dates are Feb. 8-12.

In your opinion since you ran into both last year; how were the crowds? Were they still pretty low during the day?

I think that weekend is simply busy with people vacationing at the end of value season and escaping from the winter cold, and possibly some schools have a few days off in there as well. I went that week last year, and the parks weren't crowded at all, though the resorts seemed full. Quite a few posters here have been reporting the same problem with availabilty - nothing available that particular weekend. Yikes!
