No rooms April 2-6?!

Thinking about an impromptu trip and am surprised to find nothing, but cabins available during that week. Anyone know why that week in particular? I'm ideally looking at AKL, btw.

I checked the same (Sun - Thurs) from March 20th through the week before Easter (4/10) and plenty of availability EXCEPT FOR THAT WEEK! Naturally, that's the best week for our schedule....

Just wondering if anyone has any insight? Thanks!

YES! The openning of Expedition Everest! The radio stations all over our areas (Wash. DC metro area) have contests to give away a trip to experience the grand openning of EE. I'm sure we are not the only area doing this. So I guess with radio winners and the press, rooms are pretty much booked up. That would be my guess! I think the grand openning is April 1.

Try entering one day at a time...you may find that your resort has no availability right now for all the days, but you may be able to book them piecemeal. Also, don't forget that each a.m., unpaid reservations are dropped from the reservation system and rooms open up.

There is also a major IT convention there that week. I have friends who are going. Attendees had choices for rooms all over WDW.

I recently started as a disney travel agent and believe me, I can confirm that the rooms are extremely hard to come by during at least the first 3 weeks of April!! I can ask for a value resort for a client and Disney takes me to the closest match...which lately, for that time frame, has been a deluxe!!
