We've decided to plan a last minute holiday trip for this year but I've been unable to find any rooms onsite except for a $1000+ per nite grand villa at Saratoga Springs. Not in our price range!!! Anybody know what's going on that weekend or whether there are any ways to find availability when Disney says its booked?

The Pop Warner Super Bowl and National Cheer and Dance Championships are being held at WWOS from December 4-10.

If you are at all flexible in your dates, try moving them by a day or two either way. Often times that will give you what you need.

I think Saturday Dec 3rd is the "bad" night in there. That night is really booked! Saturdays tend to be the most-filled nights. I was having the same problem if I extended my trip to include Dec 3rd!

Thanks. I already bought my air tickets, so I am stuck with the dates. I'll see if I can get part of it booked and then keep calling. Hope it's not too crowded!

Dec 3rd is indeed the stinky night! It is so maxed out on that day, but the days around it seem fine. Very strange!

It appears that many people are planning to visit either the week after Thanksgiving or the first week of December. Many of those visiting the week after Thanksgiving seem to be staying through the weekend and leaving on the 4th. Meanwhile, people who will be there the following week seem to be arriving on the 3rd. So December 3 would be the crossover night for both sets of people.

Add the conventions and the Pop Warner groups, who will start arriving on the 3rd, and the unusually busy 3rd starts to make sense.

You may want to try booking a room through an outside source. I have found plenty of Disney Resort Rooms using tripreservations and bookit on the web. They have availability and reasonable prices on value, moderate and deluxe rooms even when Disney has run out. I hope it works out! Good Luck!

Ugh! Who let out the secret? The week after thanksgiving is usually so slow that we never wait in a line more than 15 minutes. Sounds like that may not be the case this year. :P

I checked out tripreservations.com and you can get a room at POP for $88. The deluxe rooms have a big upcharge - over $400 for a garden room at the CR. I wonder how they have access to Disney inventory?

Are the Pop Warner Super Bowl and National Cheer and Dance Championships held the same time each year? Does anyone know when the schedule comes out, we want to be at the Poly Dec. 06 the first or second week, and don't even want to deal with either event.

I believe the dates for 2006 PW/C&D are Dec. 3-9.

HTH!!! :teeth:

Ok..I have a couple of questions..about this thread....

1. What is the Pop Warner Super bowl?
2. Is the first week of December always this busy? (ie..does this stuff happen every year on this week. ) Ok..so I see the post above this one for the 2006 dates...darn it.

We are planning on going the first week of December 2006. While I don't mind the crowds..it's just easier when it's not so crowded.
Thanks!

We just decided last week to go ahead and visit for Christmas since our Halloween trip got cancelled (Katrina damages to our home). Anyway, we'll be there Nov 30 - Dec 4 - and I couldn't get a room through Disney.

I was able to book All Star Music on Travelocity with no problems!

You may want to try them! Good Luck! Maybe we'll see ya there!

I was able to get the hotel I wanted through USAirways vacations and they listed all the hotel properties as having availability.

Whew! That's good to know. Here I was all afraid we'd have summer level crowds!

We're having the same problems - due to go to WDW from the 11/26 - 12/4 - and can't get any availability on the dreaded 3rd. Tried tripreservations and bookit.com, and although they showed availability online, when we phoned we were told all sold out. Back to the drawing board.
