No room for your dogs

Not rough at all - to each his own, I say!

We happen to enjoy taking our pups places with us and got a camper just so they could come along on our camping adventures. They enjoy it, we enjoy them, and we feel much better knowing they're well cared for with us rather than taking our chances leaving them in a kennel 1300 miles away.

It's not for everyone sure, but it's definitely for a lot of us here. :goodvibes

I agree.

The day I would bring my Dog to Disney World on Vacation ............. NEVER !! Is there no Kennels where you live ?? This may be a little rough for some ....... but Pleeeese ........ Get a Life people !!
Sorry, but I like my dog more than I like most people.

There is just so much I could say here but I won't......;)

terri01p where are you when I need a good dog debate....:rotfl2::thumbsup2:lovestruc

Can I see a show of hands of how many folks bring there pet Goldfish to Disney with them ..............

Um raising mah hand here.....

I brought my beta fish with me when we stayed for two weeks. When the CM saw the container carefully packed in an open box in the front seat, she asked me if that was a beta fish. I said "Nope! Not a pet. It's dinner!"

She was "earning her ears" and when you see that on their name tag, they tend to do everything by the book. I didn't want to run the risk of getting charged an extra fee for a pet.

:thumbsup2:thumbsup2:thumbsup2

Not to mention that FW would be a ghost town if all of us that bring out pets stayed home.

Oh, yeah. If I had to choose between vacation or being with my dogs, the dogs would win every time......No question! :thumbsup2

We had neighbors at FW in early December - a young couple from ME - in a snazzy Airstream we affectionately referred to as Noah's Ark. They had several cats - including one giant one they would "walk" around the campsite every day, a ferret, and some other critters as well.

I don't know how long they were there for, but they were there the entire 3 weeks we were and were clearly well settled when we arrived, and didn't leave when we did. I can't imagine how you'd swing leaving all your assorted animals "at home" for that long.

And aside from the fact that we actually LIKE traveling with our 2 dogs, it would cost us a fortune to board 2 dogs for 2-3 weeks in these parts (like, more than the cost of our campsite!)

Much cheaper (and more enjoyable!) to just pack up their stuff and take 'em with us. :upsidedow

Same here! Always stay at FW in TT...always take the 2 dogs...always take the 2 beta fish...we're just one big happy family

After doing one camping trip with my pups in a tent- I begged DH to get a pop up at least (we were hoping my van would be able to pull it)! So now everywhere we go my babies come with us! The are just as much a part of the family as my boys are- and there are definitely people in my family that I would prefer to have my dogs vacation with than to have them come along!!!:rotfl2::rotfl2:

We did kennel them the week that my parents were with us though. My mom is just not that mch into animals and having 8ppl and 2 big dogs in a pop up would have been really tight! But we did take them out almost every day to play and just hang out:)

This past weekend we had them with us too- my cousin stopped by to check out the site and thought I was crazy- not only for having their crates where the table wsa supposed to be- but they were watching TV too! I leave the TV on for them whenever they are in the trailer so other noises dont make them bark ;)

I'd hate to go anywhere without my babies!!! If only the Fort had a place for them to swim- my Newfie would be in heaven then! We'll probably bring a baby pool for her the next few trips so she can cool off :rotfl2:

It will be great if the Fort goes totally pet friendly!!!

OMG we are SO in the same boat! We have a hybrid and it's just DH and I, so pups have the entire other "wing" setup with their crates. We have a 2nd little TV we setup on their end of the TT that we leave on when we're gone for the same reason - on the Disney channel of course! :lmao:

We run the fan or A/C too. Between the 2 and drawing the shades, they can't see/hear anything going on outside and are quiet as mice (we also leave them lots of chew toys to keep them busy too). Which is the point really. We love our dogs but don't expect everyone else to have to - and that extends to making sure our dogs aren't disrupting the neighbors, always picking up after them, and not letting them be a nuisance to others.

In our experience, most dog people at the Fort are very considerate. Of course there's always a bad apple from time to time. But then that extends to those people without dogs too....

Raising my hand here! We bought our RV because we wanted to be able to take our dog with us when we vacation. My mother used to be our puppy-sitter, and when she passed away, we didn't have the heart to put him in a kennel.
Get a Life people !!
BTW-I've got a life! A wonderful life that includes a wonderful dog that loves the Fort!

Hi! I don't kennel my dogs at home, but I've used the kennels at Epcot and the Fort and found that the people there are really really caring. Of course I'd rather have them with me, though!! I just figure that having them across the park is better than having them across the country... You can call and talk to the people who run the kennels there - they're really nice: It's Best Friends Pet Care.

That's been the rumor for a while, and it does seem that more and more "bag dispensers" are popping up all over. I guess time will tell. :confused3
