My DD who is an airline employee, which allows us to fly free...asked me if I'd like a quick trip to WDW for my Birthday. What a lucky mom I am!

Well, we called for August 5 -7, and everything is booked, everything! The only thing available is an executive suite at CS for $1,200 per night, uh, no. We checked on-line as well, using muliple sites. Nope, nothing, no room at the inn.

I thought it was a stretch that we'd get our first choice resort, but nothing. Wow. Color me shocked!

Two things

1: Found a 1 BR villa at Saratoga Springs for 260/night on Expedia, certainly better than 1200

2: Is there anyway to go on the 4th? Also on Expedia, I found TONS of rooms, including 69/night at POP, but you have to have a Saturday stay.

Keep checking!

Thanks! I will keep trying and maybe something will turn up. Unfortunately we cannot leave on Saturday, her days off are Monday & Tuesday. We were planning on flying out after her shift on Sunday and back on Tuesday before she has to return to work at 6 AM on Wednesday.

Try booking for 10 nights. I found a lot of rooms available on the WDW site under the special summer code if you book for 10 nights. After it is booked, you just call back and change your reservation down to the number of nights you need. We had to do this for our trip this August. We wanted 5 nights at POFQ. They didn't have it. I booked 10 nights, I paid my deposit and then the next day I changed it down to 5 nights. A CM suggested I do it this way. Good Luck.

Great tip, I'll try it, thanks!

Have you considered some of the nearby hotels? Mousesavers.com often has information on a few deals, as well as ideas/special rates with links to hotels.

Additionally, here's the link to the current Disney special offers.
http://disneyworld.disney.go.com/wdw/special/offerDetail?id=07_AugCYODOfferPage

Have a look around, and then call. If you're choosing dates that qualify, be sure to give them the booking code BUL.
Good luck!!!

You guys are all so great coming up with these options, I have tried everything suggested here, except for the last minute travel site, which I will try in a few moments. So far I have been unsuccessful, but I will continue to try each day to see what opens up.

Thanks!

Be sure to call CRO and not just rely on the website. Sometimes they have inventory that is not on the website. Good Luck!

Keep in mind, you're going at the height of summer vacation, and people tend to book ahead & plan months in advance for Disney. So I'm not surprised that you may have a difficult time finding the resort you desire at what is really last minute.

However, I'd call CRO daily. People do cancel their vacations, so surely an availabilty for the resort you desire could pop up. Good luck!

That is when we are going to be there. Sounds like it is going to be really crowded!!!

That's when we're going to be there too. Get ready for the crowds! Did you try ebay for a room? Might sound silly but we got a great deal last year at Old Key West. 5 nights for $500!!!!! Good luck and have fun.:goodvibes

With 12 WDW trips under our belts we are aware how much ahead the planning starts, however, with the new benefit of being able to fly free at the drop of a hat, my DD thought it would be a great gift to me to take a quick two day trip, with like 30,000 rooms on site, we never dreamed there would be absolutely nothing available. We were willing to stay anywhere, including value wich we normally don't enjoy.

We plan to call daily and are keeping our fingers crossed. If it works - great birthday gift for me, if it doesn't - we're taking quick trips for MNSSHP, F&WF and MVMCP in the next couple of months...so it's not such a heart breaker, just disapointing.

Thanks again for all of your suggestions and support, as soon as something comes through I will let you all know!

Not sure if you tried Expedia, but Coronado is popping up for 119.00 a night. Also, SSR 1-bedroom for 260.00 a night. Good luck!

Just checked the website and the same room (water view) is coming up for your dates at 160.00 a night on the Disney sight. Why is Expedia less? It says "summer special" so I guess it has the code applied. You can still apply the summer code BUK or BUL to the Disney one if you want to book with them directly. GOOD LUCK!

WDW is never “sold out” of rooms. Disney sells blocks of rooms to AAA, Amex, Expedia, Travelocity, various travel agencies and many others. These rooms are “sold” as far as the Disney CRO is concerned. The other services sell the rooms via the net and other methods. These room blocks are contracts with deadlines that must be met. Expedia (and others) will often discount their rooms to sell them off rather than not meet the deadline.

Any rooms that are not sold by the deadline revert back to WDW for them to sell. This is a standard way of doing business in the lodging and travel industry. The bottom line is that there are always available rooms, you just have to find them! One minute Disney can be “sold out” while AAA has a ton of rooms. Next minute, AAA has no Disney rooms but the Disney CRO now has rooms available.

You just have to be persistent and it helps if you have a speed dialer! Good luck!

Ok Your probably sick of me, but I can't sleep. The Dolphin has rooms for both nights. (the Swan doesn't have the 6th, just like all the Disney resorts, something must be going on that night??)

For the Nurse, Teacher or Government/military(that includes police and firefighters I believe) it is 167.63 per night. ($335.25 Total)

For Entertainment book (easy to get) or AAA/AARP it is 425.81 TOTAL for the two nights. The rates change the second night.

Good luck! That is a little more than the CSR but it is a great area!
