No room assignment

we are leaving Saturday, booked on a guaranteed veranda room. Family of 5 so not that many options for room locations.

We called the cruiseline today and they took a very long time to come back and the rep said it was very strange but we do not have an assignment as of today.

Is that normal? Even though we are platinum, it’s been a while. We are not worried as we know they will figure it out.

If you book GTY or *GT while you usually get an assignment before, it can be embarkation day before you find out.

GTY and *GT room assignments are made no later than check-in at the cruise terminal. Most get one earlier, but some don't see it until they check-in.

That IS very odd...even with a VGT rate last month we had our assignment at 10 days before sailing. I honestly would call back and see if you get a different answer. Or check and see if they snuck it in on you after you called.

Yes indeed. This has happened to me in the past 3 weeks several times. I think they have finished training a new group of reps recently.
Very nice folks, but they were not able to help the first 2 times I called and then finally I lucked out and got a rep who I have spoken to many times before.

Thanks for the input. We are just going to show up at the port and see what the room is. I was just curious if this was normal.

When we booked GTY we didn't find out our room assignment until we were at the port, so don't stress too much! It's nice to know beforehand, but sometimes it just can't be helped.
