No Rivers of Lights but Jungle Book Show!

I have a question about the shows. Last time I was in Disney (I was a kid, so let's just not give a number here), but I remember us sitting in some of the shows and videotaping them. Yes, really old camera that records to VHS. Let's all take a moment to laugh about that. Anyway, my question is, have the shows now strapped down on that? Can you still record and photograph during shows? Back in the VHS days, there was little risk of any of this showing up online, but now anyone and their grandmother can record something on their phone and post it online. So, I guess the question is two-fold...1. Can I record and take pictures? 2. Are there legal restrictions to posting any of this online? I remember watching the videos over again that my parents took (grainy and bad quality) and it was a nice reminder. In order to create similar reminders for my kids, about two years ago I set up a family blog to share photos and the ins and outs of our family life with family overseas and have it all documented for us as well and our kids. I often post photos and videos from our vacations, but will I run into legal problems if I post things from Disney? I assume anything in the park is fine, but when it comes to the shows, are there legal issues there?
As far as I know, no restrictions. I watch Disney vlogs on youtube every day and those people video the shows.

Actually some of the nighttime AK attractions already have nighttime FPs. They were loaded in today.

Do you know which ones? We will be there May 31 and I just checked and didn't see anything I could modify an existing FP into for any nighttime activities? thanks!

is it possible that ROL could still open and they could also run the Jungle Book show on select nights? From the original announcement of the delay, it didn't seem like it would be a long push-back. But now I'm getting a little worried and bummed that ROL might not be running when we are there June 17-25 :(

With all their technical problems I would really doubt they would want to shift back and forth between shows.

Sounded like from a few places they were "implying" July for RoL and they need to be 1000% sure before they roll this.

I could see Jungle Book through June and maybe hope for a July 4th weekend of RoL...............

Right now zero promises of anything, thinking we are back to "Summer of 2016" :sail:

Dinosaur and Tough to be a Bug shows availability through closing at 11. I was able to modify EE to 7:30-8:30 but that was the latest showing. Others mentioned Primeval Whirl and Kali but I did not see those extended for my date of 6/7.

I've heard July 4th is their target date for ROL now.

While you won't run into problems, the real question is will videotaping this be actually worth it? If you haven't been to WDW lately to witness Wishes, what you'll see is an ocean of iPads being lifted unto the heavens as people try to capture an extremely bright-on-dark fireworks show with cameras that are not nearly sophisticated enough to take that sort of specialized video, let alone with quality or stability. Meanwhile, a handful of professional-grade videos of Wishes already exist on YouTube, some with multiple angles, at very high definition. All that 100% of those iPaders will get is shaky, out of focus video that they took, watching the show through a screen instead of with their own eyes while they were there. If they would set aside those recorders for a few minutes and live in the moment with their family, they may have actually 'recorded' a memory in their mind and if they had really wanted a video of the show, a quick internet search would have turned up these high-def versions I've mentioned. That's different then a lot of what you are talking about...there's a difference between capturing family memories like you do on your vlog and simply trying to tape a show. However, if you really want to showcase the night show to your family who aren't going to be there, consider simply linking to one of the many inevitable videos that will appear I guarantee within 24 hours of the premier taken by professionals at websites such as this very DIS. Just ask yourself what value you taking video of the show will add to the experience. Will you put the camera on your family instead of the show to share their delighted faces? Will your family be providing commentary for those not present? Or will it just be the show? If the answer is the later, I would personally ditch the camera in this specific instance and enjoy the show.
