No return pass for Single Rider on ROTR

I waited in the ROTR Single Rider line about a half hour and when we reached the part where they split you into parties of four, the ride went down. They walked everyone out and while the people in the standby/lightening lane were offered a pass to return, the single riders were not. I don't know if that is standard practice but I thought people may want to know for future reference.

Did you approach and request a pass?
Before they evacuated us a Cast Member announced that no pass would be given to those in the Single Rider line. I muttered "That sucks" and the Cast Member said in a low voice "I agree". An older guy tried to duck under the rail to the regular line after the Cast Member passed him but then the Cast Member turned around and saw him. The guy said in an abashed voice "I didn't think you'd turn around so fast". It was actually pretty funny. I suppose that I could have gone to Guest Services and raised a stink but I've been on ROTR enough not to bother. I don't think that it ever came back up that day anyway.

Does the single rider line still include the whole pre-show?
Yes, unlike MFSR single rider that skips the pre-show, RotR single rider includes the whole pre-show. An entire group of only single riders will get the briefing from Rey and ride the transport ship together. After the hanger bay, one side of the 2 lines is set aside for single riders, and they rope off the entrance to prevent normal riders from going down that side. Normal riders will go down the other side, and a CM will pair them with single riders when there is an odd group.

When I did RotR SR in November, it seemed like odd sized groups were very rare; there were tons of groups of 2, 4, and 6 that evenly filled the ride vehicles.

Makes sense on the level of rewarding the regular standby line since they had waited longer than the single rider line.

I try to remember that fair and equal mean two different things.

It may vary unless they've solidified one procedure by now. Once I was taken in the "Rey room" with all Single Riders. This time they took a few of the single riders directly to the shuttle to join people who had waited in the regular line.

I had this experience in November but another poster in the LLMP thread said they did not get the full preshow in December of this year.

This may still be on flux as they adjust operations with this indoor rider lane in effect.

Thanks for the feedback. I've never been on the ride and I'm hoping to avoid paying to ride. I have a short-ish park day at Hollywood Studios due to running the 10K the next day so waiting in a 90 minute line isn't the best use of my time either.

We may try to rope drop it if it's up and running first thing.

Went on it yesterday via single rider. No pre-show. Wait time was only 8 minutes, the lines moved briskly.

Last month, I did single rider and that led directly to the hangar bay--no Rey and no transport ship. I already knew that from reading about it on another site, but had no idea that it wasn't always done that way. It didn't bother me because I waited in the standard line many times before.

Thanks for the update -- would not have occurred to me that SR line would be treated so differently!

On the other hand, SRs are helping out by forgoing riding with their party to make sure all available capacity is used. Without them, standby would be longer for everyone and/or those people would be elsewhere crowding the rest of the park.

I rode it this summer and went straight to the stormtrooper room, then again multiple times last week and same thing, no pre-show. Had very little wait each time, last week once was a complete walk on around 1pm, we waited maybe 15 minutes around 530pm.

Half of our party paid for a LL, this summer and we all got off within minutes of each other.

For a first-time rider then - if we do single rider and miss the pre-show is it still worth riding? Or would you recommend waiting in the regular line?

Our very first RotR experience, in late 2020, there was no pre-show for us. We went straight to the stormtrooper room. I'd not read/watched spoilers, so we had no idea what was going on. I enjoy the preshow and transport part, but I'd totally skip it and use single rider, if it was effectively saving time, and a lot quicker to ride, but if I was a first time rider, I'd definitely want the whole experience.

We went through the SB queue for the first time on our recent trip and rope dropped it. It was a total walk-on and the queue was really cool! I wish we had had time to look at it.
