We are leaving in just 9 short days and you know we're jumping out of our skin with total excitement........... However, we are staying at the GF RPC and I have left 3 messages on their voice mail and NO ONE has called me back. I called this past Saturday, this Monday 8-12, and yesterday (Tuesday 8-13) and nothing......... I thought they were supposed to call me about making Ps's. Ive read so many posts about guests receiving calls before their trip..... Well, we leave in 9 days and weve heard nothing. In fact weve called with no response......... Any tips on what to do...............
Thank You

I am not sure what to tell you about concierge but if you want any PS you better start calling 407 WDW DINE and make them.

Welcome to the wonderful world of RPC service.

I would do two things. First, call teh executive offices at the GF and lodge a complaint. Returning phone calls is a basic courtesy. Next, if you do'nt get a return call within a day or so, either make your own PS, or move to concierge at another resort. If you do the latter, make sure Georgina and Al Weiss are aware of it.

I ran into the same problem when I tried to make an add-on to my itinerary. Luckily for me, it was still a month before we were going way. I also placed a couple of calls to their voice mail and got no response. Finally, I faxed over a letter with my request. When I did get through to grand pre-planners, I was informed by the CM that their staff had been cut back and they were barely able to keep up.

Because you're short on time, I would try the GF again. Use the main number if you have to and insist that you'll only speak to a live person and not leave a message.

Good luck,
Tammi

We had this problem with Contemporary Concierge and I've read posts that people at the Polynesian concierge had this problem. I went ahead and made my own PS. The problem at the Contemporary was they never answer the phone so I emailed. Never received a response. However, when I finally reached them on the phone they said they did email a response back to me. Needless to say I never received any communication. This happened twice. Just keep calling and take the advice from the posts above. Make your own PS to be safe and try reaching concierge by calling front desk and insist on speaking with a person, not voicemail. Good luck!

Georgina Sussan is the GF manager, but I've heard that she is impossible to get in touch with. Especially when it comes to complaints. Al Weiss is the President of all the resorts. He can be reached at their corporate office in Lake Buena Vista. I'd go for calling the front desk right now though. Explain your situation and let them know you will gladly stay on hold until someone from pre-planner's is available to speak with you. As soon as you've taken care of your ps's, then I would follow up with a letter to Al Weiss and simply send a copy to Georgina.

Are you calling the planning office or the concierge at the RPC? Big difference in getting a phone call returned from our experience. The planning office was great. Call the GF, ask for the concierge planning office (Steve or James). Both these gentlemen were very responsive to us. The GF is (407) 824-3000.

Thanks Tammi & MJS....... You are right...There is a big difference in calling the RPC at the GF versus calling the Executive Planning Office.
Earlier today I called the GF to speak directly to Georginne......(she wasn't available) . I frankly wasn't surprised. As a result, I spoke to her assistant Tony Eli. He was both apologetic and friendly. He attempted to make no excuses as to why my calls were not returned. (I liked that). He transferred me to the events planning offices where I spoke to a woman (who shall remain nameless). After saying Hello she said "We are 3 days out on phone calls/messages. Well, that irritated me... so I told her " Well, we called on Saturday and thats 5 days ago.....her reply was " I don't know anything about that: and sighed (Not a plus for her)... I attempted small talk and laughed to get her to soften up....with not much luck. She was so formal and not very Disney. This is not a complaint, but an observation. I have been told that the GF RPC can be stuffy at times. I think they should bring out the "Disney spirit" guests love it!

Thank You

So glad you were able to get through to a real live person. As I said, I think that they've cut back on staff so much, that they just can't handle everything.

I sent you a pm about the RPC. I hope you end up having a wonderful trip.

Sorry to hear about your bad luck with GF concierge. My trip isn't until mid-December and I initiated a call to GF because I wanted to reserve La Nouba and V&A Chef's Table. I was told that the office was open from Wednesday thru Sunday 3pm to 11pm. Well, the lady called me yesterday at 5pm and we made our advance reservations. She followed this up with an email today.

GF is being VERY accommodating. I think they are trying to clean up their act (based on the posts I keep reading). Give them a call. I'm sure it just depends upon who you speak with. Good Luck and have a GRAND time!!:) :) :)

Tammi McMann .......you said you sent me a pm of the GF, what is a pm? Disneyispi, Thank you for your comments. I'm glad you found the GF very helpful! Best wishes on your upcoming trip! WDW is the BEST!!!!!!

Hello Tammi!
How do you send someone a pm? Also, how do you get the "countdown to disney trip" at the bottom of the page each time you post? Additionally, I did speak to someone in Executive planning offices. NOT THE GF Concierge desk. Her name was Karen. My sister and I are really goofy and very very nice people. We say hello to everyone and always make people feel welcome. So, I know we will have the same reaction as you at the GF. I hope cm's come up to us and greet. We will definitely greet them. Any other tips about the GF?T

Take care,

Eileen

Hi Eileen,

As to the pm's, if you look right underneath the post, there are a number of small boxes that say 'profile' 'pm' 'email'....etc. just click on the box that say's 'pm' and you can type out a private message to that poster.

The countdown calendar is on the Technical Forum. Just return to the main forums page and it's almost all the way down the bottom. It's the thread entitled "Get your countdowns here".

Depending on availability and how busy it is when you arrive at the GF, you may be met by a concierge greeter right at the front of the building. The guards will let them know that you've arrived when you pass through the gate. If no one is there for you, let the bellman take your bags and just go to the main reservation area inside the hotel. Once you check in, they will call upstairs to concierge and have someone come down to greet you and escort you back up. Did you have a specific view request? You can send a fax to the room assignor 4 days from your arrival date and ask for something specific if you wish. If you're interested I can show you what I sent them for our trip and give you more info. As it's getting close to your check in, please feel free to click on the e-mail button below and you can e-mail me directly.

Refrigerators are available, just give housekeeping a call when you check in and I highly recommend buying your own water if possible. It's $2.50 per bottle at the parks. You can buy a whole six-pack for that price! We didn't buy anything else, as wine was served each evening in the concierge lounge and cordials from 8pm-10pm. Lemonade, water and ice tea were available throughout the day.

I tipped the same amount as with any other stay. $5 per day for housekeeping and $3 per night for turn down. I know this is a very personal issue for people, but before the trip, I set aside all the tips into daily envelopes and put them in the safe in the room. Each day, I'd just take out the right envelope and leave it on the bed. Made for worrying about once less thing.

You are going to have a wonderful time. If you get a chance, stop by and have lunch at the Cafe. They're only open until 3pm, but it was a great place to have breakfast or lunch. Ask for Izzy if he's working, he is a treasure. Please tell him we said HI! Also, the food at Gasparilla's, even though it was counter service, was actually very good. Kind of noisy though because of the arcade inside, but if you exit Gasparilla's, go right and take the first doorway into the main building (looks kind of hidden, but you'll see it) there is a back elevator that you can take right up to concierge. We would grab some food there and take it right up to our rooms and eat on the balcony.

Oh, what about the spa? Did you book yourself a massage or manicure treatment? If you have time and can work it into your schedule, I highly recommend. Just ask one of the concierge staff at check-in to hook you up. You won't be disappointed. You can also sign up and use the spa for your length of stay, it was $30. They have a workout area and seperate lounges with a woman's sauna, steam room and hot tub. Very relaxing.

You will love it,
Tammi
