Just sharing with those who will understand.

We weren't planning a summer trip this year (like we do most years), we are going at Thanksgiving for a large family DVC trip.

Then along comes the Disney Visa deal. 7 for 4....wait I think I remember this getting me last year too!!!

O.K. , so I can't resist. Talk to DH and suprise, suprise he says let's do it. He is taken with the "we have the golden ticket" idea.

Where to stay? We are DVC owners so we would like to try a different resort that we usually wouldn't use points. Let me say, I have stayed at POR. I loved it. We would have a great time there and it wouldn't be too much $, (2 ad, 2 ch).

So what do I present to Hubby: AKL or Poly. I, as the Disney expert in the family, explain that these are our two best (only I of course know the criteria for "best") choices. He picks the Poly, likes the location and transportation choices - a little less bussing.

O.K. , so I explain (again, the expert who controls all info) that we should think of LV or GVC. About the same price. Either the treats or the view... We will CHOOSE one or the other. I push for the view.

I will interject with my children and I (not DH) stayed at the Poly LVC last summer while it was in Tahiti. Fairytale package.

I loved the castle view.

O.K. from no trip to Poly LV one week, I should be happy right? You know what is coming now....
I call to make the ressie and what comes out of my mouth but Poly LVC!!!

Of course we will all love it. (My 7 year old son reallly loved Concierge service last summer- go figure!) DH will appreciate the service. I am going to try to keep it a secret. For the suprise or the guilt...I'm not sure!;)

I am very happy about the trip we have planned, it's a little $$$ but we can do it. Of course I remember telling DH when we bought DVC how we wouldn't have to pay $$$ anymore!!!

No trip this summer to Poly LVC, did I pull off a coup or do I need therapy?

WOW, this was long. Thanks to anyone who stuck with me and let me get it off my chest.:D

Congratulations - I totally understand and approve;) It sounds like a dream trip for you and your family:sunny:

Isn't it amazing what can come out of your mouth when you talk to CRO??? ;)

Congratulations.

Maggie

I understand, I want to try AKC (sunrise safari) my DH said WHY? I thought you where saving for more points?:earsboy: I haven't called CRO yet.

Oh my gosh I know exactly how you feel... Especially when you hold all the power in deciding.... I almost made that same decision but LUCKY for me Poly was not available... I think it was a little blessing in disguise...

I understand totally.

The discount codes and promotions really draw me in. We are DVC members also. I planned to go to Hilton Head this June to save money by not needing airfare or park tickets. There is little planning involved with HH. Half my fun is waiting for the codes to come out and making PS and a what to do schedule.

So I ended up cancelling HH and paying for 3 nights at WL and using points for 5 nights at SS. Needless to say I have been calling Disney Dining everyday and making out my park schedules. I'm in heaven:p

ROTFLOL!!!!!!!:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

you're in good company here!
::yes::

Us DISers completely understand all things and everything Disney!:teeth:

Poly concierge is one of the best!
Enjoy!:wave2:

Thanks!

I knew this was the place for support and understanding!!!;)

MAGICinMYHEART - AKL is on my short list as well. I've heard so many wonderful things about their concierge service...soon.

DISNEY4FUN - Funny you should mention Hilton Head. This is also what we were thinking of doing before THIS trip came into the plans. Of course my son wants to do both. He'll need a job (he's 7! :p )

There is of course a strange combination of embarrasment:o and pride :sunny: in telling my ressie story!

Now the planning and PS fun begins. Woo Hoo!:Pinkbounc

Hey, BTW anyone know what the black dot on the envelope in front of my post means...AM I in some sort of trouble????

Bumping myself back up to see if anyone knows what the black dot means...on the envelope in front of the post title.

Anyone?

What have I done?!?

You're not in trouble! ( until your husband gets the bill!) just kidding. The black dot in the envelope means you've posted on that thread. Have fun on your trip!:teeth:

Thanks so much, I never noticed that before.

I WAS starting to think my DH had a weird sort of DIS tracer on me!!!:p

Or that I was tagged for therapy!

I am so glad I read this thread because we are doing the same thing. We actually went twice last summer because of the Fairytale Package and now we're doing AKL concierge when we had already said we weren't going this year. I was actually feeling guilty about not investigating DVC when we seem to go so much, but after reading your post I can see that it wouldn't really help with the addiction.
