The ice cream you had at Beaches and Creams looked so good. I'd love to try that.
Thanks for sharing your vacation with us. I look forward to reading along with your next one.
Beaches and Cream sundaes are my favorite! If I could get away with it, I'd have one on every trip. As it stands, I can only convince Alex to eat there every few years. Perhaps if we were staying at the Beach Club I'd have better luck...
Thank you for reading! I appreciate it.
Read through your July trip in one sitting. And now I have to get up. Not pregnant, but not easy when one is an old-timer, either.
Thanks for reporting about Shades of Green. I have friends who are considering staying there and I don't know a lot about the resort. I'll have her read about your experiences there. The splash area looked perfect for Landon (and grandma, too).
This was our second stay at Shades, and I like to think we are pretty familiar with the resort. If your friends ever have questions, I'd be more than happy to try and answer them.
You had a nice start to the trip at DTD and then at MK. Peter Pan is a fantastic ride to start with and then it looks like It's a Small World just had a Small Line, after all.
Too bad the heat and the hormones were getting to you, but an hour of sitting and relaxing smack dab in the middle of Fantastyland doesn't suck!
How was Landon during Haunted?
He wasn't a huge fan of how dark the attraction was, but fortunately he was still young enough to not to completely freak out. I think what helped, too, was that we covered his ears and buried his head in our shoulders during the Stretching Room scene. He also did pretty well on Phantom Manor in DL Paris a few months back, so I don't think he's quite hit the scared age yet.
Then again, that just might be his personality. I feel like Evie would get really frightened if we took her on Haunted at 2...
Pinocchio's is a genius dining location, especially with a little one who loves Small World!
I understand about Landon's first haircut being bittersweet. But I'm glad it was done at Disney. When Ben had his first haircut, it was bye-bye to the cute little curl in his hair. forever. What a fun interaction with the Main Street performers afterwards, though! Priceless!
You are not wrong about how magical solo time at Disney is. I have been fortunate to spend many hours alone recently in the parks and as wonderful as a trip is with my kids or with my husband, alone time is pretty special!
Those baby curls never do come back, do they?
Sometimes, when the kids and the dog and husband are driving me absolutely crazy, I picture myself alone in the parks enjoying everything I want to, not a care in the world. It's my zen place...
Even if you were a bit lukewarm on 'Ohana, I bet everyone else enjoyed their meals.
That was very magical of the CM to include your mom at Dumbo!
What a precious moment you described during the Celebrate the Magic show. I can't even imagine how cute Landon is belting out Let it Go!
Sounds like your mom doesn't need any convincing about the attributes of a stay at the Beach Club, but if she or you ever need any info, I hope you know where to go...
Hahaha, don't worry, before it's all set and done, we will stay there. I really hope to take a summer trip there when the kids are in middle school and can use Stormalong Bay.
I have had a few reservations at Beaches & Cream that have been cancelled for a variety of reasons. We had one a couple of weeks ago for our anniversary trip. Did we make it this time???
Sorry to hear about some of the headaches (and tummyaches) leading up to Illuminations. Did Landon like the show?
That is awesome that Alex volunteered for a bit at Give Kids the World. What an emotional time that must have been.
Cute interaction with Buzz and Woody, even though the CMs were more like Stinky Pete!
Finally, Landon got Daisy-bombed. That is hilarious! Poor guy.
Great report of your July trip!
Landon liked IllumiNations, but not as much as Wishes.
Alex loved his time at GKtW; he said it was something he wished everyone could do.
Thanks!
