No Rental Car Problems at MCO Today

We were on the first ATA flight from Chicago to Orlando this morning, and the rental car counters were deserted! I was afraid that Budget might be short of cars due to people fleeing the state, but they were well prepared. We are Fastbreak, but I stopped at the counter to ask about my free upgrade coupon and the gas prepaying option (we never do it, but this time we will probably run the tank out and I don't want to be bothered looking for a station...plenty of gas when we got to Celebration tho'). Anyway, there was no problem with getting my free upgrade, and the garage was very well stocked with cars...nothing like after Charley.
Also, we were supposed to be on the second flight out, but the first was delayed and almost deserted! We just jumped on it standby.

Just fill it up at the Hess station on property. Price lower than when exxon was there.

i have a reservation with budget for feb. can you tell me about the fastbreak? do you go to the kiosk or counter? do you get to pick out any car in the class you reserved? what do you think about budget overall?

We did actually get to experience the "real" Fastbreak, since Budget had literally just opened when we arrived. I think we were one of the very first planes to land. I just went to the counter, since there was no wait, but the counter agent told me that in the future I can just do right to the kiosk in the garage. When we went to pick up our car, I noticed a Fastbreak sign/line area in the garage. I gave my free upgrade coupon to the counter agent, but I imagine I could have given it in there. I was assigned a car and was happy with the one they gave me, so I didn't ask about picking one.
Overall, I like Budget. Line isn't usually too bad and the agents aren't overly pushy. Sometimes the cars have a lot of miles and a few dings, but they are in good shape for driving so that's fine with me!
