No rental car - How do you get to Universal Studios Hollywood?

We are planning a 7 day trip to DL. For one of our days, we would like to go to Universal Studios Hollywood. We will not have a rental car.

Is there some sort of transportation that can take us to Universal?

Well, you didn't state which hotel you will be staying at, but if if is Non - Disney, that is your best bet.

Also offers transfers, but this time on a shuttle, from any area hotel to Universal.

The downside to these is that there are certain times you need to leave and return.

As per limos I'm sure that they would be willing to quote you one. Just do an internet search for anaheim limos or towncars, and I'm sure you'll come up with a ton of companies to try.

Contact Universal - they have a program (and i assume it is still going on) where if you have a purchased ticket to their park, they will give you a free ride (in a UH van) from DL to Universal. Great deal! I have never taken it but I have seen the vans and the advertisements. If you cannot get this for some reason, my advice would be to rent a car for one day.

Thanks for the info; but, after contacting universal - this shuttle is no longer free.

They gave me the number for Anaheim Transportation Service 714-938-8973. I contacted them and they will schedule round trip pick up and return between your hotel and US Holloywood.

They will not schedule this unless you are checked-in at the hotel.
They ask that you call the day before you need transportation.

The cost is $20.00 round trip per adult.

hmmmm..... sorry my information was not up to date. Too bad they discontinued that program. Although $20 is not a bad price, considering that it is a long way between parks (at least an hour each way without traffic). Depending on how many people you have, I wonder if it wouldn't be cheaper to just rent a car for the day, and then you could stop and see some other things as well, such as the Hollywood Walk of Fame which is close to Universal Studios.

We are leaving for Disneyland on Aug.8. Since we are coming from the Washington, DC area we decided to stay at a hotel close to Disneyland and not rent a car. As part of our package with the hotel we are taking a day at Universal Studios. It included transportation. I think it was with the company that you mentioned. When I get home I will look up the name of the company. We decided to also go to Knott's Berry Farm after our tickets came. They told us that there is a place in downtown Disney that you can buy tours with transportation. So we are going to check it out when we get there.

Sorry, I haven't read this board in two days. We are staying at the Red Roof Inn Maingate. The company that has tickets and transportation to Universal Studios is Anaheim Sightseeing -phone no. 714-978-8855. It is $57 per adult. Knott's Berry Farm is $40 per adult. That is transportation and ticket. US is an 11 hour tour. Knott's Berry does not say but it is only about 6 or 7 miles away. We will be in Disneyland in 48 hours.
