No Rehire question

Hello,

I had to leave my program back in 2012 due to family concerns. I found out I have no rehire status. Has anyone had the same status and was able to do another program. I would love to apply for the spring, but am a bit nervous. I have not been able to get a job so the best I can do is volunteer. Not sure how great that will look. I called College recruiting, the guy told me to apply like normal, then they would send me paperwork to fill out. Has anyone had any experience with this? Any information will help

I'm in the same situation, although my circumstances are much different.

As far as I understand it with rehiring, you do have to do an application process like the guy said. They'll ask you your story on why you got fired etc. Tips that people have suggested in other threads I have seen tell you to be honest, have a lot of remorse, and explain the situation as clearly as you can.

After that point you pray that they accept it.

My situation was slightly different from yours, but here's the story. I was a no rehire after being hired but never being given a shift/trained at the disney store in chicago in late 2010. applied for dcp 3 times over past 3 years, never got in, never was told I was no rehire. fast forward to past 6 months, I applied to the newly constructed disney store here in MI, made it through the interview process, and after waiting a week still hadn't heard back so called the manager who told me I was no rehire and had me explain what had happened in chicago (I had mentioned it in my interview so they knew) and she said she'd contact HR and get my status lifted. I've been working for the store since April, and am hoping it's finally my chance to get into the DCP now that my status has been changed.
