We'll be in the GF RPC for 7 nights starting July 7th. Like all you other disney lovers, we've been there many, many times. However, this is the first time I made NOT 1 ps. Am I going to regret this. All the other times I had ps's from day 1 of our trip thru the last breakfast. Has anyone been to disney without having any and did you find it hard to get into any of the restaurants. I know Cindy's is hard to get, but we've been there & I'm probably the only one who wasn't impressed with it, so I wouldn't go again. We usually don't eat in the restaurants in the parks, only the resorts. SHould I just start making some, or do you think I'll be alright w/o. There's just 3 of us this time, as my 2 older daughters are going away with there friends this year & not coming with us (Yahoo).(me,dh,&dd(8yr.)

A seven day trip starting on 7/7!! If you decide you want to make a P.S., you can always have your hotel call for you while you're there. I've decided that we will "fly by the seat of our pants" this trip instead of having to plan each day around P.S.'s

Have a wonderful time - we'll be getting there as you're going home.

Since you asked for opinions, I personnally think that you will be in trouble. While I don't fret over PS during my January and September trips. I do make many for my May and October trips. But we take our grandson in the summer and PS are a must for us then. As I've been planning our late July trip (23-2), I have been working on our PS. With barely 60 days out, I got the last 5:00 PM seating for Hollywood and Vine on one night. I couldn't get into the last seating at the 50s Prime Time for one night and settled on an earlier time and the same thing happened for our Plaza Restraurant PS. We booked our Chef Mickey's PS 120 days out because we wanted a 5:00 PM seating and if you wait on this one, be prepared to be seated after 8:30 PM. Since we have our 9 year old grandson in tow for our July trip, I don't want to spend a great deal of time waiting to get into a restraurant. I don't make any PS for the resort restraurants (Boatwrights, Concorse Steakhouse, except Chef Mickeys). As I talked with the CMs while making my PS last week, she mentioned that she couldn't believe how fast the restraurants were filling up, but we figured it was because of the FTP promotion. So you might want to rethink some of your plans. I think making PS all depends on the time of year you are going. Summer PS are a must for us.

i agree w/n2mm. summer is a busy time as you well know. i would much rather have a PS and not need it than need it and can't get it. calling from the hotel is a good idea, but you might be disappointed by not getting where you really want to dine. :p

Now I'm getting nervous. I know I should've done this before, but I didn't. I'm going to write down all the places we may want to go to, with dates & all and hopefully get these ps's. I have to say for a while, I had no pressure on me to make any ps's and it felt so good, now that that feeling is gone, I'm gettinng my "vacation stress headache".. Thanks for all your replies, I'll let you all know how I make out....Thanks again

We have always made PS's for our chosen favorites for that particular trip, but this year we decided that we want to be more flexible. It has almost always been a hassle to make sure that we are in the right spot at the right time for our PS's and we often end up wishing that we hadn't made them. We often make our PS's for early lunch or dinner to take advantage of rides when other people are eating. A few times we have checked in for our PS's at the 5-10 min. early required time and stood to wait for our PS time and heard someone else ask for availability and were shown to a table before we were! I couldn't believe that just because our time was not for another few minutes that they wouldn't go ahead and seat us before someone who didn't have a PS.

We have been to WDW many times and we do not do any planned days ahead of time like we used to. We just go with our whims that day. We plan only to do lunches at sit-down restaurants this year, so I know that we should be okay as long as we put in our names early. And if not, we can try that place on another trip.

I have been 18 or so times, I made PSs for Donald's breakfast 3 times, and no others. I have never had a problem getting a meal. I have done PSs this trip for Donalds, and 4 or 5 dinners, but I don't think it's necessary for anything. Unless you have to have breakfast at CRT, which I don't.

Don't stress, if there is somewhere you want to eat, call from your room. Relax, if you don't get to eat at every place you think you should, you may find yourself surprised with the place you end up with.

This is our first trip that I have not made ps's for almost every meal. Last year I felt like we were always rushing to make a ps. We just not doing that this year! I did make a ps for Cape May breakfast and a dinner at 'Ohana. Hopefully we'll get to eat at the other places we're interested in; but if not it'll be ok. We're going in mid-September, so I'm hoping it won't be too crowded!:D

A year ago last Feburary we did a "minimal" PS trip.

We had PSs for San Angel Inn. We saw people being turned away - not told to wait 40 minutes, being told they wouldn't be able to fit them in at all (6:00pm)

We had a PS for Marrakesh, and had no problems. We walked in a second time without a PS. No wait.

We had a two hour wait for Whispering Canyon without a PS. Ate at Roaring Forks. Called the next night at 3:00pm and got a 5:30 seating. When we got there at 5:30, it was a twenty minute wait with the PS. Two hours again without.

Tried Teppenyaki with no PS - no luck. Wouldn't be able to fit us in at all (and we were at the podium at 3:50). Ate at the Tempura Bar.

My husband and father walked into Artist's Point. No PSs.

Lunch at MGM ended up being counter service. All sit down restaurants we tried had a 2 hour wait when we started looking at 12:30.

Had a PS for the Ohana's character breakfast and were seated immediately.

This year we are making one PS for a sit down meal a day. I get too sick of chicken fingers and burgers. If its inconvienent to make the PS, we will just cancel.
