No Priority Seating at Wolfgang Puck Cafe?

I just called Disney Dining and they advised that I could not make priority seating arrangements at Wolfgang Puck Cafe (not Express).
I was really suprised by this. Is is true?
If so, are there normally long waits for seating at dinner time?

There are no PSs but I think if you call the restaurant directly you can get a reservation for at least the Upstairs, which is IMHO, overrated. I thought I read that you could get a reservation for downstairs too.

If you call them directly you can make reservations prior to 6 pm. And I believe you can only call 14 days in advance. After 6 pm it's first come, first served.

Wolf Gang Puck's is not a Disney resturant so Disney Dining can not make reservations at it (Bongos, Planet Hollywood, House of Blues, Big River Brewery...they are all outside vendors that pay Disney to be able to offer their service on the property... the Rainforest Cafe is an exception to this as they do allow Disney to make their dining arrangements). To make a reservation/priority seating you would need to call them directly for Wolf Gang Puck's the number is 407-938-9653.

We recently made reservations. You call them directly for upstairs or down...up to 30 days in advance. The cutoff time for reservations are for before 5:00 or 6:00 p., not sure of the latest one...

We've never bothered with reservations at Puck's...honestly didn't know they did them. We've always been told it's first come/first served...but then we're always there after 6pm. Just go in and put your name on the list. They'll give you a pager so you can walk around, or you can sit at the bar and have a drink while you wait.

On our last trip, we noticed the seating at the appetizer bar. We only had 4 people with us, so it was perfect (seats 4). This is bar seating along the appetizer cook line/salad prep area. We watched the chefs prepare food all evening. Very cool!! It was like sitting at Emeril's bar on his tv show. Only they do have a plexiglass screen between you and the grill line....keeps away spatters and heat. We got previews of all the appetizers and were constantly asking our server what each one was! Plus, they only seat you there if you ask, so it's usually free as lots of folks don't know about it. Give it a try if you have a small group!
