No park hopping ?

Why do all of the WDW guide books that I have read do not offer park hopping in 1 or 2 day plans for each park? There is such a big price difference between passes. Has anyone ever followed the guide books and not hopped?

when we were on a longer trip, we did not hop, we also spent alot of time at our pool and resort. Most of the time we do hop--- one place in the am, and a second place in the pm-- usually depends on where our AR's(that is the new ps's right??) are located. We enjoy the option of hopping--- helps us out if we feel one park is too crowded, we can go elsewhere.
