No Park Hopping Troubles?

Minerva, I am wondering, do you have to have park admission for the MVMCP or is the ticket for that seperate? If you have to have park admission you would have to be at MK all day. Might be wrong, often am. LOL

MVMCP is a separate ticket, you don't need to use a day on your hopper unless you go to a park earlier. Even though the official hours for MVMCP are 7:00 to midnight, they allow admission with just the MVMCP ticket after 4:00pm, to ease the crunch at security.

We could not live without hopping either. Most days we go to one park in the morning, return to the room for a break and then go to another park.

It's a seperate ticket but even if it wasn't one could go in the morning then go take a break and go back for the party. It's not like once you enter a park without a hopper ticket you're stuck there not being able to leave until you're done for the day.

In the past we've always hopped, but this past January we got just base tickets and it worked out great. (Granted, though, if we were to go in peak season we'd probably get the hopper option). DH and I agreed it seemed to make for a more relaxing trip, but the EMHs definitely added to that. :wizard:

This is what I was wondering for our next trip. Next time were going for 6 nights and 7 days. One day for each park and 2 for MK. One for a day to finally explore POR and one to discover DTD and Blizzard Beach. So the question is can I use a day to go to DTD and blizzard beach on the same day?
Do BB in the am and 1/2 pm and DTD in pm and later on into the night?
We have always had the park hopper with my CAA or AAA tickets and have never thought of not having it. The 2 times we've been, we have never used the park hopper anyway. So I thought it would cost me less if I didn't have it.

:grouphug: The 5 of us waiting for Feb 2006 or 2007

I paid for the park hopping option. Our last trip we went to MGM because my 6 year old wanted to ride ToT and the place was MOBBED! DH got a fast pass and we killed about an hour or so until the time came up (the line wait was already 90 minutes first thing in the morning!) Then we jumped on a Friendship boat and went to Epcot.... hung around there for a while and jumped on the monorail and went to MK. It was a great day!! I definately want the hopping option!

If you need to add on the PH option, or any other option, or extend days, you may do so at the Guest Relations within the parks. If you are adding the no expiration option, just remember that you will be paying for the number of days "originally" on your pass.... not the number of days left. As for the PH option, that is a flat $35 regardless of size of pass, and the Magic Plus Package is a flat $45 regardless of size of pass.

Hope that helps!:)

Hey, thanks for clearing up the MVMCP ticket thing. I had thought it was like the CP and you had to have a ticket to the park to participate. No wonder it was so very crowded the time we went. I hate crowds and even if the hot cocoa was 'free' it was not worth the hour wait IMHO.

From what I am reading the new tickets will be popular as they are so adaptable to people's wants and needs. I do hope that AP's remain as good for people like myself as they presently are. On the upside since we usually get an AP in the fall and use it for that trip and then two the following year there are times when we would like to make an extra trip but do not want to buy the AP's and the ten day pass is a very reasonable price as I remember so we might squeeze in an extra trip sometime.

Mark me down as a definate hopper. Though the larger the group I'm with, the less we hop.

When it's just me or one other person, it's a brezze to get from park to park. Never takes more than 20 minutes. I just hate large crowds, and I also have definate moods - some days I want to ride tons of rides, some days I just want to see tons of shows.

For instance, I've found the best combo to be going to say MGM in the AM, hopping over to AK late afternoon (say 3PM), leaving AK at 5, going back to the resort for a rest, then going to Epcot or MK if it's open late. That's three parks in one day, but done correctly I can ride tons more rides that way, or see every major show between the parks.

That helps me hit a park during the less busy morning hours, take advantage of the non-existant lines in the rides at AK after the afternoon parade, and see another park after dark.

It's not an every-single-day thing, but done effectively it can be great. First time visitors, however, I'd say don't hop more than once per day - say one park during the day, another at night. But once you've been there enough, and have a good idea of the layout and have experienced all the parks before, you can really hit a whole world full of favorites in one day if you have the stamina.

I have to admit, since I've been a passholder I've never not park hopped on a day I've been down, except in the rare instance on arrival or departure day when I only have time for a short hour or two trip to a final park.

Disney of 3... I need to know this also... hoping someone gives an answer. Also, what kind of tickets are you getting? I am doing this exact thing (except going to Typhoon Lagoon instead and not visiting another resort - just hanging out at our own resort). I figured that getting the 6 days of park tix and buying a ticket to TL is the cheapest way, right? How 'bout you??

We've done 6 trips and have always had the hopping option. With that being said we haven't hopped enough for me to pay the additional expense. We always plan a slower activity after an AK day and we will open and close the same park so hopping isn't a necessity and I can use the extra $$ to buy more souvineirs.
