I am scheduled to arrive at DL on Sept 13 and depart on Sept 20. I just checked the calendar on the DL website and NO parades or fireworks are scheduled after Sept 1 :confused3 . Two years ago I went in October and saw the POD parade and the fireworks.

Is it usual for them to add those things to the calendar at a later date? Oh, and NO pixar parade either! I could cry. I didn't think mid September would be soooooo "off season". But DL doesn't open until 10 am most days we are there. 10 am!!! Thank god for the GAT tickets!

Where would I be without this forum? Thanks to the advice of everyone here I booked those GAT tickets, found $79 each way airfare with VirginAmerica and got the Ent Rate for two nights of my stay at the HoJo!! Thank you DIS'ers :cool1:

hi there...from my understanding, those types of event will be posted closer to the actual date...so you might want to check it out again closer to the end of august or beginning of september. i'm sure there will be something while you are there! :)

I knew they were cutting back on alot of entertainment, but didnt realize it to be this much. From my understanding, September is very offseason.

According to everything I have read, Fireworks should be on Friday, Saturday and Sunday (unless they are cancelled due to the wind) and the Parade of Dreams should be daily with the Pixar Play Parade running on Friday, Saturday and Sunday on a shortened parade route!
Fantasmic will not be showing in September!
Supposedly Disney is always very slow in posting their Entertainment schedule for the fall but everyone seems to feel pretty confident that there will be parades and fireworks!
What a coincidence, hikingblondie, we are arriving the evening of September 12th and departing on the 20th and are staying at Hojos and we are from the greater Vancouver area also!
You must be flying out of Seattle to get a deal like that on airfare!
:woohoo:

During the off-season, you can pretty much tell when they are going to schedule fireworks by the closing time of the park. If the park closes after 10:00 PM, they will usually show fireworks that evening, weather permitting, at 9:25 PM. As previously mentioned, only on Friday, Saturday and Sunday nights during non-summmer and non-holiday months.

luvsmickey1968 - YES! We are flying out of Seattle. I'll be listening for a nice Vancouver accent and wave to you when I hear it! And, it sounds like we can watch the fireworks from our room on Saturday too if they're on (we're not starting our passes until Sunday since we arrive too late on Saturday...decided to spend the day shopping instead whoo hoo!

I'd double check the hours. We're going end of september and DL opens at 8 most days, but DCA doesn't open until 10.

I just checked the calendar again and during the week on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday in September both Disneyland and California Adventure open at 10:00 am!
hikingblondie,I'll be listening for that accent as well and watching for the wave!
Do you have a Disneyview room at Hojos.
If so, the view of the fireworks should be excellent as we watched them one night when we were there in May!
44 more days to go!!:yay:  :yay: :dance3:

Hikingblondie & luvsmickey - I too will be there 13 - 20 September! :goodvibes

Obviously it is the week to be at DLR!!:lmao:

I just printed the schedule and noticed that there is no Electrical Night Parade at DCA the whole week! I am very disappointed as I love this!

Here I was thinking I was going to have to fit in Night Parade, Fantasmic and Fireworks all in the one night - but this is now not the case!

Enjoy your trips! I know I will!!!

MouseFanDownUnder, it really must be the week to be at the DLR and glad to hear that you will be joining us, along with thousands of others. :thumbsup2
I am really hoping for low crowds and nice weather!
We planned the trip for that week as it is my 40th birthday on the 14th and I wanted to spend it in Disneyland so we really didn't have much flexibility!
I am still trying to get over my disappointment about Fantasmic!
We were going to do the special seating with dessert for my birthday!
I do feel better though since I found out that it will not be showing until mid-December because I would never had planned by trip for such a busy time so I now know that it wouldn't have mattered when I went in the fall!
I love the Electrical Light Parade but I knew before I booked that it was not going to be on as it never shows after Labour Day and before the busy time just before Christmas so I knew that we weren't going to see it!
Aladdin is a big disappointment as my friend has not seen it and I really enjoy this show!
I have been fortunate to go to Disneyland many times and I see that you have as well and although I do feel bad for us:sad1: ; I really feel bad for people who are coming for their first and possibly, one and only time!:sad2:
Even with all these things not happening, I know that we are going to have a fabulous time and I know that you will too!

Yes, we did get the Disney View Room. I still check their website every day hoping more Ent rate nights come up during our stay. Only 2 so far...but the most expensive 2 nights, so it's a consolation.
I can't wait to watch the fireworks on Saturday night from our room! AND, I even spoke to the famous Lorealle when I phoned the HoJo to get our Ent Rate...so funny, it was like I was star struck by her "celebrity".:rotfl:
We should start a who's going in Sept thread....
