No other Concierge but AKV for DVC?

I was noticing the thread for the Concierge lounge for AKL and it got me looking, as a new DVC member, at the points chart for BWV to see how much it would be there. Is it only available to the Inn customers? I was hoping it would be offered at all DVC resorts.

You can't use points at the BW Inn. Anywhere there is a DVC resort connected to another WDW resort, you can't use points to stay at the non-DVC side. You can use points to stay at GF Concierge, Polynesian Concierge, YC Concierge, Contemporary Concierge, but you will use a whole bunch of points.

AKV is the only DVC that has concierge available for points. And there are only five two bedroom lockoffs available there. Three on Sunset Savanna and two with pool view.

Thanks for the heads up. I was aware of all the non-DVC concierge locations but I don't want to use up all my points to stay there.

Are the chances pretty slim of getting a concierge studio at AKL for 7 months out?

I call at the 11 month window at 9:00. I still missed two days of my stay. I would waitlist it if I were you. You never know how someone's plans may change. I would call exactly on the check in day of the 7 month window. You are aware of the new booking system?

Did you call under the new ressie plan?

It will be difficult but there is no harm in trying. Be sure to call as soon as the phone lines open, 7 months from your check-in day. The problem is that the number of AKV owners continues to grow and the small number of Concierge rooms is fixed so the competition for those few rooms gets tougher every week. The studios book up very quickly. We've had reports that for some dates, the studios were gone by 9:01 AM 11 months out. If you are going to WDW at a very slow time you might have a chance booking at 7 months but it will be a slim chance at best.

Out of interest what time of year/room size were you after?

Is there ever a slow time for DVC? I've rented points the last few times and haven't had very good luck with our first choice.

I'll just book at BWV at 11 months and be put on the waitlist for AKV. We're looking at Sept. 09 or Jan. 10. Any preference on when we would have a better chance at getting a concierge room?

if you really want to do this - just do an add on for AKV.

otherwise slim indeed.

you are talking about 5 2-bedroom (or 5 1-bedroom and 5 studios) that is it - no more EVER.

rumor say that BLT will have concierge too - but doubt it. there is so far nothing in the old CR tower - where CR has their conceirge.

it would be silly to move CR conceirge lounge to BLT - so can't see this happening.

May 3rd and 4th 2009... studio AKV Concierge. I did book 5th 6th and 7th. I talked a whole lot faster. :lmao: DBD reservation, I really don't know what I did different, but I was able to get the last three days, of the 5 I was trying to get. I booked Value for the 3rd and 4th, we will move over for the last 3 days. I have the first two waitlisted. Maybe with a 11 month waitlist my luck will shine. :goodvibes I called to check my waitlist last week, no luck yet.

I consider this a slow time at Disney. This is a hot category.

No, I used the DBD system. I had a very slow MS rep one morning, I told her up front what I wanted, I knew with the period of time she was taking it was all over. The next day, the MS rep was sharp! He said," let me grap this before it gets gone!" I was so thankful. I guess it was the luck of the phone call. I am thankful for the 3 days. Maybe my waitlist will come through. If it does, I will sure post it.

I think, if I understand the new policy correctly, I would have missed the whole reservation with the new booking policy, because the first two days were not available. This is what makes me feel this is going to make this Cat so much harder to book, than ever before.

Definitely go on the waitlist if you can't get your room right at 7 months. I called for a concierge studio the day the 7 month window opened. It took a while, but my waitlist came thru less than 3 months later.

Now I was only looking for 1 night, so that may have helped me a bit. But it doesn't hurt to try.
