My Mom and I were just talking about how no one has to take personal responsibility anymore. We received McDonalds stickers today for a program we went to--and a warning was printed on the back stating NOT to place on furniture or walls (because everyone knows the first thing kids do when receiving stickers is to read the back). We KNEW this was there because someone has tried to sue that their child ruined their priceless furniture with the sticker and that it MUST have been McDonald's fault.
I think I will pursue my own lawsuits because the proper warning labels are not present:
I will sue the makers of Cap'n Crunch for tearing up the roof of my mouth when eating their cereal before the milk has soaked in
I will sue Dr. Pepper for keeping me up at night because of the caffeine in their delicious drinks
I will sue the makers of my husbands golf clubs because of the profanity that they cause him to use--causing distress and embarrassment
I will sue Nintendo for the addiction my son seems to be afflicted with
The list goes on and on......

If you spill it, it's your fault. End of story. McDonald's shouldn't have to care. Now everyone pays more because McDonald's has to worry about their legal liability for people doing stupid things. No amount of legal wrangling is going to convince me that someone who spilled coffee on themselves deserves a penny. Shame on the lawyers, the plaintiffs and the juries!
