No offense to Donalds_best_pal, but can we replace his cruise list thread with a simple thread containing a link to Majestic's cruise database? http://www.majesticnetworks.net/cgi-bin/whoiscruising/whoiscruising.cgi

He stated a few times that he doesn't have time to update it and since Majestic's doesn't require manual updates of that kind...

What do you all think?

I think that's a great idea. Maintaining the cruise list has been a huge burden that has burned out three listmasters in the last few years (with a fourth about to burn out). Making this a self-service thing would be a great idea. As for not having anything come up yet for your specific cruise date, that's only because that list hasn't been populated yet. But once it's been adopted, I think it will be a much better option.

I agree. I know Matt has worked very hard at trying to make the list work - it is very overwhelming. I like the fact that Majestic's database is more self-serve. I think the other great thing about Majestic's is that he also runs the same thing for the resorts and we know that many DCL cruisers hit the resorts either before or after their cruise.

I think Matt deserves a lot of credit for the work he has done, but I also think Majestic's database is a better option.

I'm all for it. Then Donalds_best_pal can ENJOY the boards again and go back to being our pal instead of our slave.

I just popped over there and entered my dates in a couple of minutes. I really liked the immediate results and I like to do it myself.

Self service works and within a couple of weeks the lists will be probably be well populated since DisBoard folks are a very interactive bunch.

First cruise May 1 - 8 on the Magic, can't wait.

I Think it is a great idea... and try to get this going several months back, when we had the problem it is a great list..
Wonder what Donalds_best_pal has to say, im sure at this point He might Agree as I can only think how tough it is to keep up with, like people email /pm /post and u do not have all needed information.... what do some ofthe folks with the power to make this happen think ???

Even though a lot of work went into Donald's but so did the other one! The best part it is you can update, delete or whatever yourself without relying on someone else.

The cruise list is just too important to have go wayside again!

Majestic's database is awesome. I have it on my favorites and I try to give threads with alink to it an occasional bump. I would love to see more people entering it.

I have been working this week adding more names and was planning on adding more tonight. I really dont care what we do. I wont update it tonight if people want to just use Majestics now. The only reason I have not wanted to totally stop is because it feels like I have put in all this work already and now it would go to waist. Thats my personal reason on why I have not totally gave up. I have wanted to always do somthing to help more with this board after building my own DCL website and it only getting 2 hits a week, I thought this might be my time to contribute since I am not a moderator. Its up to you guys, I will not be mad either way.
