No mushrooms at Le Cellier?

We are thinking about trying for lunch at LC on our upcoming trip, but I really want to try the filet, and the only one I see on the menu is the mushroom filet with mushroom risotto. I hate mushrooms! Can I get it without them and get the mashed potatoes instead? Thanks!

I was wondering the same thing, I LOATH mushrooms. the little slimmy things. YUCK. I want to try that filet too, but not with mushrooms all over it.....

My DD22 requested that last December and she received the fillet with the creme cheese mashed potatoes with BBQ sauce on the side with no problems. Just ask

Just wanted to say that I HATE mushrooms myself! I can't get over the woodsy taste and the texture.

However, I ordered the mushroom filet with the cream cheese mashed potatoes and it was GREAT! It still had the mushroom "sauce" on it, but I couldn't tell it tasted like mushroom at all.

When I was at LC last year, I asked for them to leave the mushroom sauce off (I'm another hater!). They left it off, and I ended up with the steak (no sauce) and cream cheese mashed potatoes. Delicious! You won't be disappointed, I promise (oh, and get the cheese soup or caesar salad for an appetizer--both are wonderful!).

I'd just like to stick up for the recently maligned mushroom. I love mushrooms in many forms and varieties. I also think LeCellier's Mushroom Filet is absolutely one of my favorite meals, ANYWHERE.

When I read the thread title, I was afraid someone was going to tell me they were for some reason doing away with either the mushroom filet, or mushrooms altogether. While obviously some of you would be ok with that, I would be terribly disappointed.

But that's just my opinion.

My husband is among you all..and he ordered without the mushroom sauce without any problems. The waitress didnt even question it. Her reaction was as if it happens all the time.

Yup! That's exactly how I ordered...no shrooms and it was fabulous! You can ask for ANYTHING to be changed anywhere on Disney property and I've never heard of being told no. Enjoy!

Maybe we can join a mushroom hating club, no other food I hate more than mushrooms they're DISGUSTING!... they smell, they're slimmy and you can't actually wash them only wipe them off... YUCK!

I ordered the filet plain and creamy potatoes without a problem

This is great news for me since I am part of the mushroom haters too! DH just LOVES mushrooms and the mushroom filet. I try a bite of his every time. Although it is not bad with the sauce, I know I couldn't eat a whole entree with it.

Aside from hate being perhaps overly-strong... many Guests appear to be selling short the risotto.

I don't like mushrooms at all either. That said, I always get the mushroom filet at LeCellier and actually don't request that they remove the mushrooms. There is a sauce that is on the filet (which I assume has some mushroom component to it) along with the mushroom pieces that really makes the steak. When the steak arrives, I just pick off the mushroom pieces and dig in. Without the sauce, I think that the filet would just be so-so. And, yes, we always substitute the cream cheese mashed potatoes for the risotto. YUM!

Ok, so I do find them slimmy and they are a fungus, but I am actually allergic to them, so I can get away with the hatred!
I am glad it is not a big deal to delete the buggers!

WOOHOO I am so happy to hear that subsitutes are available. My DH hates that I always (I MEAN ALWAYS) have to order a dish with this or that left off or added he says I am so high maintenance when it comes to food.

But who am I to care if they can do it and it isn't too much trouble I am all for it So excited for my LeCellier ressie my mouth is watering
