No Mummy?

Yes, with the full animation, while the mummy with the hat is warning you to turn back, the main Mummy jumps out of the coffin next to him. The Mummy holds up his hand toward the hat wearing mummy to silence him and then starts threatening the riders.

Yeah, that's what I thought but some people are saying that if the mummy doesn't come out, there is a video on the coffin of the hat wearing mummy? I think I'm confused. :confused3

You're not confused. Sometimes, the mummy jumps out; at other times, the Mummy's face is projected upon the head of his casket. Either way, the audio is the same with the riders being threatened. I've seen both versions. I don't remember if I've seen the situation where both versions were inactive.

That's interesting. I was there the last week of April and I don't recall seeing it either, we did the ride twice.

Heading back out there again at the end of June, would be interesting to see it. Thanks for the post.

Yeah, the animatronic jumping out of the coffin is called A-mode. The projection on the coffin is when it's in B-mode.

For the Yeti in Everest, A-mode is when its moving. B-mode is when they add a strobe and a fan effect to its hair to make it look like its moving. It's been in B-mode for almost two years now. :confused3

The Mummy can be hit or miss but I've been lucky enough to see it working like 85% of the time.

I never really think about the Yeti until I've passed him and by that time I couldn't care less if he's working or not. I DO remember when EE first opened and made it a point to look for the Yeti but I don't really care anymore.

The Mummy is my favorite ride at the studios and if the mummy is working doesn't bother me but the fire over your head is something I could do without :rotfl:

70% is better than 0%

(....yeti)

:rotfl2:

I don't recall ever seeing the Yeti working so it's really no big deal for us - but it still would be better if the ride actually worked like it was meant to. :rolleyes1

We missed the Mummy this past trip (Easter - queues were just too long) but can't wait to take DD on it for the first time next year. :yay:
