No more Stanby line for A&E?

I keep hearing this reason, and I have my doubts. I live in Houston, and we currently have about 7 different princess party companies offering Anna and Elsa, and the girls who portray them could work at Disney, and several of them are former cast members. So how can amateur party companies find actresses to play Anna and Elsa, but Disney can't? We had two of these ladies at a party, and they were fabulous. Completely in character down to the mannerisms. Disney recruits face actors from all over the world, and you're telling me these two specific characters are that difficult to cast? Maybe so, but either way they need to work HARDER, because the Anna & Elsa meet and greet situation at WDW is RIDICULOUS.

BINGO!!! I said this weeks ago. My friends and I met Anna & Elsa in Epcot before the movie came out- the girls were nice and lovely actors, but they didn't blow me away (after I had seen the movie, that is) to the point where I had said, "Those girls were AMAZING!!!!!" The eyebrows and wig on Elsa are practically shameful anyway. I know a LOT of GREAT actresses making an awful lot of money playing Elsa at parties here in NY. There's a LOT of out of work performers. They can find them, I'm sure. None of the actors can be "easy" to find, but they're not impossible. I've been to Disney open calls and there are hundreds upon hundreds of lovely, talented females there. Just find more!!

I don't understand what you mean. How can they be in more than one place at once?

Maybe the girls need to be able to sing too. :rotfl2:

I never thought A/E would turn into this last November. I'm glad I was ahead of the game for some. Hopes this gets better before the holidays. I know there are at least 3 Cinderellas at any given time.

So for what its worth is this a bad thing? And can someone explain it as CLEARLY as possible...im having one of those days.

It's unknown if it's a bad thing or not. We don't have any data. we don't even have a full park day to know how it's being received. I would love to be there to see ground truth.

At the moment, you can see them in one of two ways.

1. Get a FP for them two months before (and good luck with that).
2. Go to the special distribution point before they run out for the day, to return later in the day.

If you fail at #1 and #2, you are SOL. Only you can decide if that is a "bad thing" for you.

3. Act like a mob of Viking Invaders at RD and be one of the first 50-100 to get in the Standby line.

Any sightings of someone in a trenchcoat in Fantasyland yet? We all know it's just a matter of time.

Wow, this thread exploded overnight. I don't have time to read 10+ pages. Did the change take place, or no?

Wondering how this will affect us crazy adults who will be trying to meet A&E during EEMH.. :confused3
(Here's to hoping standby reopens then!)

So there is a time, but no date. I wonder if they're going to change colors to determine which ones expired, or if they haven't thought that someone might try to use it a day later.

So...I got up at midnight when my 60 days opened and got an A&E FP for exactly 5:30! Now do you think I'm going to have to compete with all these paper fast passes and have to wait over an hour at 5:30?

I think there are a few reasons why it's more difficult at WDW. One, working a party is a bit different than the park. At a party you're not hounded by countless numbers who are willing to push and shove to see you. For some people that can be intimidating. Two, where would they put a second or even a third queue? If they make another queue you can bet that the wait time for that one will be almost as long as the first, so where can you house that many people without compromising another attraction?

No, these passes are for the regular queue. They won't affect FP+

They all spontaneously combust at midnight, Mission-Impossible-style.

I think I read that there will still be a FP+ queue.
