In perhaps the most exciting Disney rumor ever to come down the pike, it looks like Disney may finally be moving away from that horrible, cheap toilet paper they have been using for the last 10 years in the parks and resorts. The from Mouseplanet:

"In addition, Georgia-Pacific products, such as Quilted Northern bath tissue, Angel Soft toilet paper, Vanity Fair napkins, Dixie cups, plates and bowls, and other products will be utilized by guests and Cast Members at Walt Disney Parks and Resorts."

OK, so its not earth shattering news, but this particular cost cutting move was always a pain in the... I would be happy if this were true.

Exfoliating one's rump has always been a truly magical Disney experience.

I still like the question somebody had over on the DVC board... "How many extra points is it to get the GOOD toilet paper".

I'm not sure where you've been 'goin', but all the TP I've used over the years was soft, but just soooooooo (unbelievably) thin and smooth (no texture). I believe a couple of years ago the thin TP go a little wider (after I commented about it a few times on the boards). I never quite understood the logic behind cheap TP...If you are smart you will use a lot more of the cheap TP so you're sure you don't break through. And with the lack of texture, you have to use more, more times to get the job done...so in the long run I would think that the cheap TP doesn't pay off.
And is it in anyone's best interest to make it so difficult to be clean...or to be dirty (for those who lost the fight with the cheap TP)?

I learned a long time ago about 'cheap' TP (can we say SCOTT?)...it's simply not worth it.

Here's the "scoop"

I can personally attest that the TP has changed to Georgia-Pacific's
"Envision"

198802-Ply White - for all you unbelievers! ;)

This product was in place in my room at OKW as of 1/14/05.

AND, an added bonus: the label further reads, "Safe for all standard sewer & septic systems"

YaHOO!!! Ei$ner's finally behind us! :smooth:

Some years ago I heard (WARNING: unsubstantiated rumor!) that Disney didn't pay anything at all for the toilet paper, but that the paper company provided for free in exchange for being the "official provider of paper goods" for WDW.

On our last trip, I realized the big difference btwn mods & delux. The TP! I never would have noticed if we hadn't been shopping at the GF and had to use the facilities. ;)

Does this mean that if baboons stayed at deluxe or DVC resorts, they wouldn't have... oh, never mind.

Looks like Disney sponsorship has hit bottom. ..........MANY bottoms!!!

Okay, the TP problem is fixed.

Now can they get started on fixing the coffee ?

I think these are only linked if GP purchased Nestle. ;) There's a combo for you!

WIth them re-doing the Land though, maybe you can hope for a new sponsor. I would not hold my breath, though.

On A recent trip to WDW, my girfriend said the only thing wrong with this whole place was the toilet paper. She loved everything else there. She actually made her comment before I seen this thread!!

Here's the weird thing - I always thought WDW coffee was terrible - but my last stay at ASMo, I found the food court coffee to be really GOOD. :earseek:

Probably the same old coffee as always, but maybe for once they cleaned the darned coffee machines out. :earboy2:

As far as I know, they are still using NescaFake.
