Can anyone confirm that the ribeye is no longer on the menu? We've been over 10 times and the ribeye has always been on the menu and is DH fav steak of the trip! Its hard to believe its not on there anymore and there are only 2 steaks offered at a steakhouse?! (NY strip and filet)

I see it listed on the menu on allears and wdwinfo websites...but not on the disney website. Interesting. :scratchin Maybe someone who has been there recently will chime in.

I agree with the previous poster.....go to yachtsman. :)

If true, IMO another victim of the DDP. Increase the cost, cut back on the offerings. I cut the DDP umbilical cord several years ago, including when it is "Free." No regrets here.
Im with you on that. I dont do the DP either.....I jump on the wagon when its free, sometimes. But mostly I pay OOP. It works for me.

I would understand if this was still a 1 credit restaurant, but it is not. 2 credits and you cannot have a in eye steak? 2 credits and you are jammed into this cave like sardines in a can? 2 cedits and you are rushed in and out as though this was an assembly line? No. I can buy that some restauants are victims of the DDP reimbursement, but this is not one of them, at least not any longer. Le Cellier is a victim of greed. If Narcoossees, YSH, Artist Point, can serve decent meals in a setting that does not force you to be hanging on to your seat fo dear life in ode to keep you from leaning your elbow on your new best friend's table, and can do so with service that encourages you to emain from inhaling your meal in order to ensure the next set of guests is seating at the speed of it light, then LE Cellier can manage that as well. They choose not to do so.

Just wondering what the difference in whether you're on the plan or not has to do with the offerings at the restaurants would be?

Two different issues are being mixed up.

The theory is that because restaurants are forced into an annual fixed price per DDP guest, they can't adjust prices (on DDP guests) to account for changing market conditions. Therefore they adjust the menu by bringing all the entrees into a price range corresponding to the DDP. Merely reducing options, even if they're not cutting the highest priced items, helps control costs. It might even make it easier to serve high capacities more efficiently.

As for choosing to avoid DDP as a protest, I get why people will do that but don't think it will have an effect. Personally I avoid it because it lacks flexibility and because I often get vegetarian entrees, it's a poor value. People gripe about being forced to book ADRs 180 days in advance but don't seem to have a problem with being forced to decide to get appetizers and desserts days or months in advance.

I have never done DDP. That means I can leave the Disney bubble and get good food. And you don't have to go far. Just walk from Epcot to the Swan/Dolphin.

I also don't book 180 days in advance. The only restaurant worth that hassle is Victoria and Alberts. If I can't get in someplace it's not a big loss

When we were there in May they also had the cheese platter (as an entree and dessert) but it doesn't show up anymore on the Disney menu -- at all .... Although the cheese selections appear.... I currently have a lunch ressie and I am on the fence as to whether to keep it or switch it .... I guess I'll wait to see what has changed but to be honest for a 2 TS eatery they are paring things down enough to make it not worth it....

I've made a reservation at STK just in case for the same day but I hope they aren't cutting down the menu at Le Cellier.

I have been to Le Cellier on every WDW visit in the lat 4 years and I have become increasingly disappointed with it each time.

My first trip in 2012, Le Cellier was at the top of my list of must do restaurants. Now I still see it as must do but I tend to do lunch and only order cheddar cheese soup and poutine (and a few extra servings of their awesome bread!).

Thank you. I rarely stay on property so I've never done any kind of dining plan but I've heard it's only worth it if you want to eat the most expensive things or if you get it free.
