No more reselling kids clothes???

Well, hopefully now they will fix it for the crafters as well.

I'm not surprised it worked out this way. I am glad the confusion didnt' go on any longer. There's no way politicians could have withstood the vicious public outcry that would have incurred.

I hope people appreciate the MEDIA's POSITIVE role in this outcome. The Internet community was key in getting the ball rolling, but it wasn't until newpapers like the Wall Street Journal, the LA times and also TV stations shone their very bright hot spotlight on this nonsense that action occurred.

Situations like these show exactly why having an independent press is so important.

Thank goodness! I just took off my nice JCPenney jacket ($5 at the thrift store) after sending the kids off to school, DS in his Lands End jacket ($3, it's getting small and will soon be replaced by a LLBean $4 jacket. And that's just a few of the thrift shop items in our house. I look at it as good for the environment and good for the kids' college funds!

I hope that the crafters will get some positive news soon. This would be a real burden on them.

That is great news for resale shops, but still is going to put so many small business owners and crafters quickly out of business. Please read the letter below and consider signing the petition you will find at the link below.
Thanks!:)

Thank you so much for your support of the Handmade Toy Alliance. Our membership numbers continue to grow and we have been receiving many positive press responses. We have issued letters to the Consumer Protection Safety Commission, responding to the agencies requests for comments on the CPSIA. Many of us have contacted our Congress People, hoping for their support in changing the law.

Currently, we are in the running to have our issue presented to President-elect Obama, but we need your help to make this happen. Please vote to save small businesses from the CPSIA at www.change.org/ideas/view/save_handmade_toys_from_the_cpsia.

The Handmade Toy Alliance remains grateful to all of you, your trust in our products and your ability to work with us to make a positive change in this legislation.
