Disney has gotten rid of the pre-order for $99 UNLESS you receive a code with the offer prior to your trip. :headache: Glad I pre-ordered mine last week :sad2:

Just found out that you can no longer pre buy the photopass through that link, you have to be invited by Disney. Anyone have any idea how that may work? Last year we went in Sept with friends, they got the invitation to pre buy, I did not.... and I'm the one signed up everywhere for Disney stuff!! When do they usually send these out, like how far before your trip? How many have actually gotten this offer? Wondering what my chances are!:goodvibes

That stinks in a big way!! We always get the Photopass but only by pre-order. Now that they raised the price, we probably won't get it unless we get an email :sad2:

No kidding...these are the only pics I get in all year!!!! I have a DSLR and my DH doesn't know how to use it :rolleyes1

Don't get too upset . I just got this reply from my TA:

Now when you receive your documents in the mail (2 weeks before you travel) there's a special card and offer in there for the photo pass:) It actually gives you the pass to preregister. I don't know the exact cost, but it says if you pre-register you will save big.
The link is no longer available because they are doing it this way now.

Now, obviously this could change, but it is supposed to be given to everyone along with the other documents. Hope this makes everyone feel better.

Glad you all like the photo pass pictures. We were just there and there was only one picture I would have gotten. But.. we did do the photo session with a photographer at Beach Club. He did a fabulous job and we loved most of the pictures. For $99 about 90 pictures on a CD and 7 printed 5X7's you can't beat it. Thanks to who ever posted it before we left last month.:banana::banana::banana:

That makes total sense - the preorder code was never supposed to be posted on an Internet message board to begin with. :thumbsup2

Hopefully everyone who qualifies will get the new preorder code - wonder what they are offering to those of us who are DVC members?

ok i received my documents about a week ago and it has a photopass card in there...i was just about ready to pre order the cd so i hadnt planned on pre registering the photopass card I received but now i dont know what to do. The card says to enter the code and your photos will automatically be available to view online. It also says and I quote " Photos must be claimed within 30 days of being take. Once claimed, they will be available for 30 days from claim date. So that sounds the same as before.

My question is on the CD price...if i get the pre-order offer I suppose I can just not use this card and get a different one when I get there...since this code will already be uploaded..

What do you think...we have friends leaving the week after we get back and we planned on preordering the CD together to save some money so now i am wondering if their codes can be entered so much later if our code is already pre registered?? Im already a little confused on all this stuff since we've never been if anyone can shed some light or have any other questions about the card that comes with the documents let me know.

Also the card has our name printed right on the back

Any way im sure it will work out I guess 150 split 2 ways is still better than nothing.

I received an email while we were gone for our trip in late September. It provided a discount code of $30.

:thumbsup2 What Tiger said. As far as the bolded area, I believe the only thing you have to do is have a confirmed reservation (or in the case of a package, a paid reservation). To be honest, I didn't ask my TA if room only or DVCers get the code because it didn't occur to me that they wouldn't. Since this card comes with all the trip papers, do you know if DVCers get trip papers?

You can no longer pre-order the photopass the way we have all been doing up to this point. If you go to that web page, it basically says the page you are looking for doesn't exist.

From what my TA told me, when you get your photopass in the mail, you need to register it before your trip or there is no discount. Again, this is going by what my TA told me (and she is a Disney Specialist), but that photopass card IS the pre-order.

My best guess about all this: Disney realized everyone was using the web link and Disney thought it was ok at first since it was bringing in more money, but then guests were finding loop holes. Disney lost money when the system allowed guests to pre-order the CD at a discount and then add a discount code on top of that, so I'm assuming using this code will not allow you to add another code like the other one did. Disney also lost money when families and groups were "sharing" the cost of the CD, so this closes that loop as well (for the most part). Earlier this year Disney closed the loops where guests were 1- getting free shipping and 2- where any additional pages in the photobook were free (I have to admit I enjoyed that loophole when making the book from DS's trip; although I would have gladly paid for the extra pages if the system made me).

So I don't think you are going to be able to share the cost of the CD with your friends since they are going after you.

Hope this helps and if I'm wrong, someone please correct me.

As DVC members we get our confirmation papers in the mail, with a trip insurance flyer enclosed, and that's it.

FYI - There are special offers on the Photopass website right now that might interest people: $15.00 off CD, free shipping on calendars and 20% off purchases of $50.00 or more. So, it looks like guests can get a small discount on the CD at this point.

It will be interesting to see how they handle this with all guests, Tiger

That's a bummer! I was planning on pre-ordering the CD for our April trip. We're staying at SSR but through a timeshare exchange so I have no idea what paperwork will be mailed to us.

I'm leaving in 3 weeks to visit parents in FL and then spend 10 days in Disney. Will they send me an offer for $99 now or is it just for a select few random people? I had no idea that they stopped this.

so my next question would be...if i pre register my photopass card and then im in a park and lets say I forget that card in my room that day can i still enter another card or will only the ONE card get on the account?? Because if i can enter other cards i should still be able to share with our friends that are going later right?? if you cannot enter any other codes of other cards well that stinks because if my husband and i split up with the kids or something and use another photopass card i want to be able to add those pictures, or for the christmas party or whatever....

If you arent going to be able to share than I guess not using the pre registered card so we can share with our friends is probably a better idea then so we can split the whole price and pay 75 bucks a piece in stead of whatever the preorder price is.

I used a link I was given by the Mom's panel. My link no longer works. My question is how do you sign up to get the email with a code?

Without the discount I doubt we'll bother to buy a Photopass cd unless we are doing a family gathering. That way by have 3 or 4 families sharing the cost it makes the expense more reasonable.

As a DVC member who has pre-purchased my own photopass 4 times in the last 18 months, I am really irritated! I did get an e-mail from Disney's Photopass prior to ONE of my trips -- the one we paid cash for.

I never got anything from them for the DVC trips we've taken, and I would be surprised if that changed now. Only people that order packages get all that "stuff" in the mail (although I suppose they could start sending the PP cards for room-only reservations).

So I'm steamed. Even if it was still $125, I might do it. But now they've raised the price to $150, and limited the availability of the discount.

There have been so many threads complaining about all things Disney lately -- dining price increases, ADR system, food quality, removal of free valet for DVC members -- I've rolled with all of it -- but this one item must be my last straw! :headache:

We're leaving monday and I haven't received a code either. There was nothing in my paperwork and we haven't received an email. I think I will wait and see if we receive any kind of email during our trip before I decide about ordering.
