So we are going to be in Disney in 6 weeks for our wedding :bride: and honeymoon. One of the ways that I was able to convince my fiance that 2 weeks in Disney was better than 2 weeks in Las Vegas was Pleasure Island. So needless to say, the news that it would be closed less than a month before we arrived went over like a lead balloon :scared:

So now he keeps quizzing me on where are we going to hang out at night and go drinking and have adult fun. :drinking1 We know about Atlantic Dancehall but don't really want to go every night. He has NO interest in Jellyrolls (thinks the whole piano bar thing is cheesy). We will be there for Food and Wine so we wil be doing some Epcot hopping. Does anyone have any other ideas for later evening fun? Last time we were there it seemed like the resort lounges were only open until about 11pm or so and that was pretty disappointing to us when we aren't even eating dinner until 8pm most nights and would be looking for somewhere to go afterward.

Please help!! :crazy2: I'm afraid of having a groom revolt on my hands!!

Thanks :goodvibes

Why don't you go on the monorail to every high flutten (sp?) hotel in the place and try an appetizer and a drink at each?

Ask to sit up front in the monorail when you can and make it extra special.

For instance you could go to California Grill for a drink and an appy and then proceed to the Wave for same before hopping on the monorail to whatever great bar/restaurant they have there and then the Poly to the best place there and then to Grand Floridian to their best place and then end up at Epcot and go to a great place there or end up at Boardwalk and end the night there somewhere...

I think this could work with a little imagination...

I think me and DH will try it in October.

Best Wishes. :hippie:

Um---- really? You're going on your honeymoon with your groom and you and he can't think of anything to do after 11 p.m. but drink or go out? Why not suggest to him that the two of you could maybe engage in the traditional honeymooon couple activity. I think he ought to enjoy that and it would count as "adult fun." :thumbsup2

Heehee - Oh I know that won't be an issue ;) And honestly I know that we won't be out partying every night as much as he gets in his imagination. Sometimes he still thinks we are in college and have the energy to be out every night until he ends up passed out at 10pm snoring :rotfl: I just like to have lots of options to present to him so he doesn't pout.

We might try the monorail thing again. We did that a couple years ago and got really annoyed at GF because there was some big convention group hogging the bar and being really rude and the monorail broke down and we got stuck there until the lounges were almost all closed :scared1: But I think I might have talked him into giving the Wave lounge a try.

Coronado Springs Resort has a newer lounge called Rix Lounge that just got named Best Trendy Bar..... I can't wait to check it out in October!

Coronado Springs could be a transportation problem if you're not driving and don't want to take a cab. I would budget for a cab if you're going to be out late at resort lounges. The other option is to ride a bus to Downtown Disney and switch to your resort bus. And we don't know what the DTD bus schedule will be with PI gone.

Too late to switch to Vegas?

How about getting a cab and going over to CityWalk at least one night - there are still many fun, happening nightspots there.

Also, check out Bob Jackson at Port Orleans Riverside about three nights a week (or at SeaWorld on Sunday afternoons, or at the Gaylord Palms one or two nights).

For a "PI like" adult good time, you're probably stuck with going to City Walk or even Orlando itself.

My husband & I go over to City Walk @ Universal 1 night every trip, even though I hate leaving Disney :) I really enjoy it there, we have dinner @ Margaritaville on the deck and then go to the different bars/clubs. It's a really good time.
Have fun & best of luck on your marriage :goodvibes

I have to echo others who've mentioned CityWalk ... great restaurants and clubs; the hubby and I always have fun over there.

The monorail crawl is also a good idea, although we've not tried it (yet).

This fall the hubby and I will be attempting a drink around the world showcase one day ... of course the end result of that is that we're likely to be in bed before 11pm.

Congratulations and have fun! :goodvibes

I feel your pain. We are late eaters too and when we're ready to get drinking afterwards all the bars at the hotels are closed or close to it.
Try to do EMH at Epcot the Friday you are there. The booths are open til midnight.
Someone suggested Kimonos if you like karaoke.
Jellyrolls isn't really that cheesy if you like rock/oldies music. You can make it as laid back as you want it, you don't have to call attention to yourself (just don't wear your wedding ears!)
If you're into sports, ESPN Club is open late. I have heard good things about Rix, but I can imagine that there is going to be a lot of conventioneers.
If you're into it, take a cab (or use the offer at the top of these boards for transportation) to Halloween Horror Nights. Then go to Citywalk, or just got to Citywalk.
Congrats and best wishes on your upcoming wedding!

We loved Jellyrolls! We took a cab there and back...it was so much easier than buses.

House of Blues and Raglan Road come to mind as places that are open late and have a fun atmosphere.

You can sit at the bar at Raglan Road and order food there if you don't want a table. They have a nice beer selection and live music. :thumbsup2

House of Blues, Bongos, Raglan Road. Kimonos at the Swan and Dolphin.

Is renting a car an option especially if you will be there for 2 weeks, or maybe rent it for a few days than you can head out to City Walk or other Orlando places.

I'm glad we will be there before PI closes, my 31 yr. old brother is going and one of the ways to convince him was PI and the lounges/bars.

I didn't see anybody mention Todd English's Bluezoo restaurant and bar at either the Swan or Dolphin (can't remember right now). :upsidedow They have a really nice bar area which might be good to go there for drinks/appetizers or dinner afterwards. I think the bar areas is pretty lively until around 10-11 p.m.

Some very good suggestions all!

My hubby and I usually go to PI at least once during our trips so I am so sad that our party place is going away. It may have been going downhill these past few years but I still enjoyed it all the same. We usually would start off with the Comedy show and then danced our way through all the clubs. I will miss the tradition.

However, some alternate suggestions that I've tried doing myself is:

1. Raeglan Road is good for a meal or snacks, drinks, and listening to good live Irish music but the music doesn't start I believe until 8 or 9pm.

2. Citywalk is fun and the one place to really left to go now for dancing if you like to dance. Citywalk also has so neat themed clubs slash restaurants also. They have a new karaokee club that is neato (arrive early though for a seat). I have a rental car so I'm fine with the short drive. One time I did call for the price of a cab while at the Caribbean Beach resort and the man told me 50 bucks each way and I was flabergasted.

3. Dueling Pianos is also fun but arrive early for a seat!

I think this year I might take the suggestions of hopping to all the monorail resorts and grabing a drink and snack at each spot. Something different is always good.

I have never been to Citywalk in the evening - what kinds of clubs are there? Anything remotely as good as Adventurer's Club or Mannequins?

We had one heck of a good time at Mizner's Lounge in GF, but that's prolly only because the place was packed with very friendly and, um, 'talkative' people that night. Can't count on that, of course.

Still, the 'mono-crawl' can be fun. Is 'Outer Rim' still open at CR ?

Hey, it's your honeymoon. You'll have a great time, I'm sure... :goodvibes
