No more photo package at CRT or Akershus

We had dinner at Akershus last week and to our disappointment found out they no longer include the photo packages there or at CRT. Just thought I'd pass it along for those who enjoyed those photos as much as we did. They said that too many people left the photos behind so they stopped doing it. For the price of the meal, I felt was getting my monies worth with the photos included. Don't think we will do these meals any longer.

I agree, without the photos, the cost is straight-up highway robbery.

Yep. SURPRISE! Basically a $30 price increase. And it barely got a mention here on the DIS. I'm disappointed.

I was told that if enough people complain to guest relations then "maybe they would bring it back"... I do not purchase memory maker so to pay that much for the meal and then have to purchase photos on top of it is ridiculous in my opinion.

I read that you don't get the physical photos there anymore but that the photos they take are added to your photopass account so you can print them at home for free. The photos come up on the photopass site as free No additional purchase required for you to get those photos.

This is only if you purchase memory maker... For those who don't purchase memory maker, you have to pay per photo to order from photopass.

This was not my experience in March. The pictures were in my photopass account, but I couldn't download them unless I paid $14.95.

Lisski76 that is for meals like Chef mickeys that the photos are not included. Akershus and Cinderellas the photos are included in the price and come up free on your basic Photopass.

That is correct. I had a lengthy conversation with a Cast Member who said she used to take the photos at CRT and then hand them out. Since they don't do that anymore she now works in the photo shop. She also verified, the photos are not free unless you purchase memory maker, otherwise you have to pay for them.

Ok this must be a real recent change case when they first stopped doing the physical photo prints they let you print the photos for free off of Photopass.

I am logged into my photopass account right now, when I click to download the photos from our dinner, it comes up with a fee of 14.95 per photo. They are only "free" if you purchase memory maker. I had this verified by a cast member.

We also ate at Chef Mickeys and 1900 Parkfare and there were no photographers at either location.

That's a shame. DN's picture with Belle at Akershus is one of my favorite photos from that trip. They've stripped away a lot of the value of those meals. And at 2 credits for CRT? I have hard time believing a lot of people left a princess photo behind...

That's too bad, those were a really nice keepsake. There was something really neat about getting the picture at the end. Logging onto Photopass just isn't the same.

I think we are so used to the price increases now that they aren't even getting mentioned on here much anymore.

Argh. I changed a Le cellier to Akershus to sneak in a princess on my 14 yo DD. she is anti princess now, but Daddy wanted that picture. I wasnt going to add MM either. Oh well what another 170 bucks for MM
