Just read this on the "secrets" thread:

"Think the pillow case also isnt available any more, also seemed to be specific to the Magic and Wonder"

Has anyone just gotten off Magic, and do they no longer sign the photo mats if you drop them off with pens at Guest Services? That was a favorite keepsake from NYC 2012, and I was planning to do it again this August.

Thank you to anyone traveling on the Magic recently who can verify!

You can no longer drop off items to be signed at Guest Services for signatures and have them returned at the end of the cruise.

This was stopped last summer.

You can, however, bring items to be signed at the meet & greets.

Is this strictly for the magic that they discontinued this option, or is it for all ships? :crazy2:

Oh that is such a bummer! I was planning this for our girls next year. Oh well, at least now I know, now. Thanks!

You can carry things to the meet and greet events... Just be sure it's easy for the character to sign (i.e., a stiff cardboard liner inside a bag or shirt) and it is character-specific, per DCL's definition. Which is to say, Mickey can't autograph a Tinkerbell mug.

Also, there are a few characters that can't sign due to hand size restraints.

Has anyone tried to bring blank pillowcases (of course with something to press on) to the meet & greets? It's still shocking to me they did away with this option and though I'm sure I'll get over it, it's new information to me and I can't help but feel a little disappointed my kids didn't get to experience that.

We did this as a FE gift on the Transatlantic. It worked great taking to the Meet and Greets, with one note. Marvel characters can not sign on the same side as Disney characters, so make sure you have the Disney characters all use the same side if you will want a Marvel character.

Thank you to everyone who went out of their way to answer this question! :) I guess that's good in a way, less candy to pack... (We always stuck a bag of candy in with the pens and the mat for whomever was signing!)

Why don't you just get some people at your work or something to do it before you leave?

Are the cast members trained on how to sign as a particular character?

Yes, the characters are all well versed in their signature, after all it is their signature. ;)

Aw. Kind idea, though it's just not the same for us. :upsidedow As scgustafson said, they work to create pretty significant signatures for the people who do it. Besides, my girls are too smart for me and would totally know if I tried to pull any funny business :rotfl2: Thank you for suggesting it, though, it *is* a great idea in a pinch! :goodvibes
