No more opt-in housekeeping?

Hi. Not sure if this is in the correct thread
WDW news today is reporting that DVC will no longer be able to opt-in for additional housekeeping or towel services (?)
I’m just wondering, if you really could use some more towels, for instance don’t have time to do a washer load, would they still be able to bring you any?

We were able to ask for more towels if we’ve been in the room for the security check/garbage takeout. Otherwise, we called and asked for more towels.

You can call for a towel package at no charge.
